Temple Side is a small hotel on a quiet street with a nice pool and clean and decent rooms. Only 150 m from the beach. The breakfast food is rather bland (cheap produce perhaps) and any small change in the two weeks change in the routine was greeted with delight.
The main problem is the manager. The staff were lovely and friendly but clearly live in fear of the omnipresent manager (who has a split screen security screen camera in his office) and his son. Instead of a good atmosphere the restaurant (always empty apart from the all inclusive guests) and pool has a sour atmosphere. Instead of a happy convivial atmosphere the poolside has the glares of waiters, the son and the boss watching your every move at all times of the day from breakfast to evening meal. The look of resignation on the cooks face through boredom and realising this only the start of the season tells the story.
The son in particular has the tv blaring all afternoon watching soaps, laughs like a drain in the rights place while the waiters tiptoe around him like he's a prince. Apparently, the manager and father is aware of the complaints from former guests but has ignored this sage advice! This explains why nobody ever comes back to the hotel for a repeat visit and has had so very few guests so far.
Down the same road try the Sunberk Hotel or Hotel Bykara - you can see the guests are relaxed just through staring through the fence!
