Just returned from a week's holiday in this smallish hotel / apartment complex. I chose the Myra after researching on "tripadvisor". Most of the previous reports where spot on. We,( my wife & I) chose to book bed & breakfast. The flight time from Belfast meant that we arrived around 02.30. We where warmly welcomed and shown to 'our' room. At this point we felt let down. The room was small, exagerated by having both a double and a single bed. Tiredness delayed any complaining, however before the 'welcoming' by the excellent Thomas Cook rep Gavin, we where offered an upgrade to an apartment for an extra £10 per night. There was no hesitation and from that point our holiday mood returned. The complex IS small but kept clean and tidy (unobtrusively). The pools 2 'adult' and 2 childrens where never crowded and sunloungers where always available. The pool bar/resturant proved popular and the basic bar snacks tasty and reasonably priced. The Hotel offers a 'free' bus service to and from the nearby beach twice daily. The 'Full moon' beach offered excellent sun loungers and parasols free. and their resturant served some very good snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. The hotel tries to keep the guests happy by organising the traditional Turkish night as well as a Karoke night and pool party evening. While there we witnesed some nice upgrading of the hotel facilities, new tables and chairs in the pool bar and reception area. My main complaint would be focused on the 'breakfast'. Entitled 'typicaly Turkish' I and other guests where greatly dissapointed. This hotel / apartment complex is like a lot dotted throughtout Side and many other touristy areas in Turkey, it's NOT in the middle of the action. It is some 25 minutes walk through uninteresting streets / roads to the 'Old Town', but if you prefer, a taxi costs only 15 Turkish Lira each way.
Room Tip: Go for an apartment, forget about breakfast.
