My wife and I, plus our 13year old son went to the AliBey Club with lots of confidence after having read all the Trip Advisor reviews first, and boy were they right!!
From the moment we arrived at 5am in the morning, feeling very tired, we were checked in and the bags were delivered to our room before we had even got out of the reception area(which was 10mins top).
The room which was on the ground floor of a block, and was lovely and spacious with plenty of room for all your clothes(which makes a change to other 5 star places we've been to), and even though our room was not one of the new upgraded rooms, it was very clean with great air conditioning, which was a must in August! The only gripe that I would have, is that you wake up when upstairs wake up, especially if as we had, they move furniture around, or bounce a football at all hours, or the cleaners are in moving furniture to clean etc, as the noise is quite loud being on marble floors-so tip is to get an upstairs room!!....lol.........
In the room you have a fridge which has drinks already supplied(free), beer, water, soft drinks, and they are restocked every day-excellent, as many places we have stayed on all inclusive have charged extra for this!!
The TV.............well the same English channels as most places we've been to before......BBC World news and Sky News,....just wish there was ITV and BBC so that when you're getting ready you have something that isn't been repeated every 15 mins(as the news channels do)...lol...
The gardens outside the blocks are all very well kept and mature, plus their are water fountains in between each four blocks which are lovely.........
Their are two restaurants one near the outdoor pool(air conditioned inside) and one on the beach......both serve a huge range of foods that are excellent and there is always something for everyone......I really cannot fault them at all.
The only slightly negative comment (maybe just a selfish one) is on the subject of food at breakfast -as even though you have a huge choice of eggs, yogurts, fruit, pastries, etc, etc, there are no English sausages or bacon,or even baked beans,(incredible) but there are mini franfurter type of sausages(urgh!)....lol...All in all they're not geared up for the Brits(but only at breakfast)....moan over-but it is only a small one!lol.
The restaurants are immaculate and hygeine has to be up with the best! In fact the hygeine and cleanliness of the entire resort is immaculate!! Our favourite restaurant was on the beach at night watching the sun go down, with a gentle breeze coming off the mediterranean.
The waterpark is superb, plenty of rides for everyone, and all the food, drink is included in your AI package, plenty of sunbeds, with shelter from trees for a large proportion of the sunbeds, all with parasols, and again no litter at all!! Just be careful walking around the waterpark, as, as quick as they mop up water to stop you from slipping, more water is there straight away(well you'd expect that in a water park wouldn't you?) lol....so do as we did and wear jellies that are non slip and problem solved. There is a restaurant which serves food at lunchtime and late afternoon, and the food once again is excellent with a huge salad bar, the usual chips, burgers, pizzas, fish, pasta, plus many other things to choose from.........
The beach is lovely with loads of sunbeds and cover from the sun with man made parasols made from wicker etc.....superb shelter. the sand is soft until you get towards the sea and then PEBBLES galore!!lol....ouch!......wear those jellies...!! When entering the sea you can go about 3-4 metres and then ................wow that was deep!!
We did many water sports whilst there, where you pay them directly on the beach and thoroughly enjoyed them all...would recommend them to anyone.
The staff at the Alibey are brilliant................nothing was too much trouble and they work their socks off to serve you.............we slipped them a 5 Lira here and there (£2) and that brought a big smile to their faces and also got us served much quicker etc...lol..
On site you have various shops............very,very expensive indeed..My watch broke whilst I was there(about £100) and so I thought I would buy another one at about that price but unless I wanted to buy a cheap watch which wasn't waterproof(for the pool),the prices started at £250 and upwards!!
The papers are prices as anywhere else in Europe at about 2.50lira (£1)........so no gripes there...but one day we bought 2 twix and one mars(all std size) and the cost was 18lira (over £7!!)...-needless to say that we didn't buy anything else from there...........so be careful as nothing is priced up!!!!!!!!!
But isn't that the same wherever you stay at a hotel???..............
Their is one main pool which is big enough and deep, with a very small area that is shallower(about 3ft deep) which brings a welcome escape from the intense heat of August, but if you want a sunbed you'll have to get up early as by 8am they've all gone!!!lol..Hence we were on the beach or in the water park most days, as their are plenty of sunbeds at either place...
You also have a quiet pool near the beach which is for adults and children over the age of 14(I think), which is nice with it's own bar,and only about 10 metres from the beach.......mmmm..
The shows at night are excellent.....The sound, costumes, and effort put in, is equal to anywhere-except for the fact they mime...........but believe me if it hadn't been for someone telling me I would never have known!lol..
All in all we have stayed in various 5 star places and this without doubt gets the No.1 spot!!
The gripes mentioned are very small indeed, as let's be honest we all have our own little moans and groans about things no matter where we stay, don't we?lol..
We WILL be going back again, which speaks volumes for the place, but this time we'll be requesting an upstairs room!!!lol..
Well done to all at the Alibey for making our holiday a great one!!
