“A lovely first holiday abroad with my son”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

This review is a bit late coming as we traveled in 2010. The hotel was fantastic and entertainment staff were brilliant. My son was too little to take part in anything but they certainly kept us entertained on the grass area with games. The food was good and always hot. The location was ok. If the hotel hadn't been so nice and I had found the need to venture out more I think I may have got a bit bored. This however was not an issue as Saray Regency is brilliant. Thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: Pool view is nice if you want to use the balcony

“Really impressed - fab holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

The 4 of us went in august 11. The hotel was full and we were one of 10 English families. The rest were Germans and Dutch. Our room was basic but large and kept exceptionally clean throughout the holiday. Front Desk/Restaurant/Waiting & Bar staff were without exception extremely pleasant and helpful - most spoke good English and if they made good effort.
The Gala dinner was fantastic with great food presentation and display. One odd thing was there were no ice screen at the buffet. But you could buy them at the local shop.

The Animation Team worked fantastically hard during the day with activities for adults and children. We didn’t like much the evening entertainment . What we can categorically say is that the animation team were brilliant with children and it was evident that they all loved kids so anyone with young children can feel 100% safe leaving children in their care.
Great facilities with children with table tennis, football, darts, mini clubs, disco…

In summary a great hotel, 300 metres from a very nice beach with plenty of water sports .

“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Great week in Saray Regency, All Inclusive: food was amazing, drinks ok-gin vodka and brandy were free, along with the fruit spirity things, beer and soft drinks free, red white and rose free and actually ok! after 12 midnight you have to pay for drinks.
Rooms clean and comfy- maximum 2 adults with a smallish child, teenagers will need more than the pullout sofa. They do do triple rooms and 'suites' although cannot vouch for them.
Sofa big enough for two, although bathroom is not! TV has BBC and CNN in English and depending on time of day a couple of film channels and some weird American soaps. The rest is in Turkish, German, Spanish etc.
Air con gets real cold so dont leave it on when going out, the room cools down quick enough.
Garden Suites apparently loads better than the main hotel, cannot fault my room (garden suite) So advise requesting room there until main hotel has been modernised (apparently underway soon).
Staff: All lovely- those on reception really helpful, chefs/waiters/bar staff great, cleaners topnotch, entertainment crew fantastic, spa guys good too.
As a young female was concerned about the perviness-did not happen in hotel, all staff really friendly.
Banter with the Tunisian 'Animacion' Team was cool, very funny, wicked with young and old alike. Just get involved, you're on holiday!
Pool is freeeezing cold, but sea was like a warm bath, once you were in! And the hotel has a warm indoor pool so everyone catered for.
Beach is a mix of pebbles and sand, but doesnt hurt like English Beaches, and the Saray Regency bit is next to water sports so you can get your adrenalin fix! Beach food bar is same as pool food bar, serve burgers, pizzas, pasta etc, although salad could do with covering as flies flitting about.
Food: I am fussy I cant lie....but I ate so so much! 19 of us went and no one complained, the teenagers ate, the veggies ate and the fussy one ate... All a bit salty though so get some water to go with it! Def try all the 'a la carte' restaurants-Fish, Italian and Mexican, you can book 4 times during the week, booking between 10-12 on the day you want to go. Except Friday as that is Turkish in the restaurant which you really dont want to miss!
Def have a spa, try the turkish one...but only if you dont mind being touched pretty much everywhere! Just lay back and think of England...and laugh lots!
Tennis Courts, Table Tennis, Holiday Darts and Archery, Beach Volleyball, Water Sports (pay), and then you have the evening entertainment- bingo/karaoke etc and also the disco-although that is very 'European'.
You need to make up your own mind, the poor reviews are worth ignoring as my experience of this hotel was great- but a holiday is only what you make of it.....

Room Tip: Garden Suites newer although refurb starting on main hotel soon. In October the sun stays on lounge...

“Couldn't fault it!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

My wife and I stayed for 8 nights between 3 and 11 October 2011. We were a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but we could not fault it.

Location:

The hotel is situated between Manavgat and Side, both of which you can get to on the local bus, which stops outside the hotel and run every 10 mins or so. We went to Side to see the ruins and to the large market at Manavgat (on Monday's and Thursday's).

Hotel:

The hotel is split into two - the main hotel and the Garden Lobby Annex, it has two swimming pools and a slide pool for the kids. The quiet pool next to the Garden Lobby and Palm Bar is lovely for a relaxing afternoon in the sun on the plentiful loungers and shade if you need it. There are 6 bars and 5 restaurants (including 4 a la carte) and two cafe bars where you can have lunch/snacks. There is a hair dresser and a small shop in the main hotel and a number of shops just outside the hotel. There is free Wi-Fi in the reception area of the main hotel and on the ground floor of the Garden Lobby Annex, which is ideal if you have a laptop or mobile phone which has Wi-Fi (remember to switch off 'roaming' but leave on 'data' in the settings on your mobile phone to avoid high data use charges).

Room:

We stayed in the Garden Lobby Annex which is linked to the main hotel by a covered walkway. The air conditioned room was clean and comfortable with a comfy king size bed, a small balcony with a table and two chairs, a flat screen TV (which had 4 English speaking channels - BBC World News, BBC Entertainment, National Geographical Wild and CNN News) and a nice bathroom. The bathroom had a large shower with a choice of two powerful shower heads (a large ceiling one or a standard hand held shower). The only issue was a lack of storage space in the wardrobe, which housed the safe (1 Euro a day charge).

Food and Drink:

Everyone in the hotel is all inclusive, so there are no horrible wrist bands to wear, which is a bonus. The buffet restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is always a good selection of hot and cold food and it is worth trying out some of the more unusual dishes that are served. The bread is especially good! The local wines and beer are pretty good and the local spirits available are Vodka, Gin, Brandy and Raki (similar to Ouzo). Table waiters serve at some of the bars and it is worth giving them a small tip and they will remember you and what you drink! It should be noted that they serve the red wine chilled, which whilst unusual was refreshing in the heat! You can book the 4 a la carte restaurants (Turkish, Italian, Mexican and Fish) at various intervals between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. next to reception on the day you want to eat. It is worth going sharp as numbers for each are limited. You can go 4 times to the a la carte restaurants during your stay, which is highly recommended. My wife and I particularly enjoyed the Turkish restaurant. The 2 Garden Cafes’ are lovely for a relaxed lunch and they serve lovely pizza and pasta dishes.

Staff:

The hotel has mainly German and Dutch guests and the staff spoke German. However, most spoke a little English and we go by without any problems. The hard working staff were generally friendly and helpful, apart from one frosty faced female receptionist. However, it was my wife's birthday whilst we were there and the hotel left a card and basket of fruit in our room, which was a nice touch.

The questions are: Would I recommend this hotel and would I return. The answer is yes!!!

Room Tip: The Garden Lobby Annex is quieter than the main hotel

“Relaxing Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

First impressions were good and overall we were not let down. We were placed in the main hotel and questioned whether we would have liked being put in the annex, which is to one side and you have to go to the main complex for your meals. Meals generally very good. Breakfast confirms that this is a predominatley a German / Dutch hotel. (I always thought that even they enjoyed your English breakfast) not here, but there is still a good selection of choice. Lunch gives a choice of eating resturant or poolside and the evening meal was mainly chicken or fish but there was always plenty of choice in the two weeks we were there.
We spent a lot of time by the pool as we have been to the area before.
The evening entertainment, we only went to two shows, Michael Jackson "Brilliant" and a dance show "Come back Michael Flatley" even his trainees would have done better.
The staff were pretty good as long as there wasnt a tipping German around.
We went for walks down to the private beach (Where you can have lunch if you want) turn to your left and keep walking, its hard to get lost but make sure you have water and sun oil. When we were there it averaged 40c in the sun nearly every day and that was September.
Reading GemGems review, they had the same holiday as us. I would like to know where the wingers come from.

Room Tip: Ask for the main hotel when booking.
