“Hotel and food surprisingly pleasant after reading previous reviews.”

This hotel was booked by friends before reading the reviews. We picked this based on pictures of the hotel, and it's 5 * rating. We dreaded to think what we were coming to after reading. We arrived at the hotel at 11.30pm, the receptionist asked if we wanted to eat first then check in, the restaurant was opened everynight for half an hour from 11.30 til midnight. One of our party was especially pleased at the surprise of some food after travelling. When it came to checking in, we were asked if a family room would be ok, when in fact they were overbooked. It wasn't too much of a problem, but fact was we booked 2 rooms. We got our own rooms the next afternoon. To compensate, we were offered free massages for the four of us and meal at the al la carte restaurant, and free safe keys.

That was the only major hiccup. The hot food was varied day to day....salads were same-ish, but a wide variety, there was something for all palates, and tasty, not the bland I've read in some reviews.

The pool was lovely to dip into when it got too hot as it wasn't too cold like some can be. Most of the staff were friendly, but most didn't understand English, they speak more Russian and german, some French. We only spoke to another English couple that were there. The rest were European, so it was hard to mix with others. Animation team tried to get the holiday makers involved in their activities, I must admit, we went out to the town after the evening meal, to do a bit of shopping, and to go to some different bars. Only 10 min walk to the town and the beach. There is a shuttle that takes you to the beach every 15 mins from 9-11am slows down a bit over lunch, then resumes from 1-3pm, before it slows down again.

Overall, would say it was 4*, our room was lovely, we were on the 4th floor overlooking the pool and mountains. There were 2 bars, one by the pool and 1 on ground floor. I'd hate to think how long you'd have to wait in the height of the season. It was pleasant, not too busy, not too quiet.

We found some of the holiday makers rude, pushing in front of queues, etc, no wonder some of the staff seem rude....it's what they have to put up with!!

We came for a relaxing holiday to a nice hotel, with nice food, we had all that. We were compensated for the first night....it was forgotten about, after a few days. I would recommend this hotel and this part of turkey. I had a week in ichmeler, and it was nowhere near as nice!!

dont even go there trust me its rubbish the hotel had no entertainment the food was recycled and cold some things werent cooked, the management team were ignorant and the staff were incompetant, no one spoke english and we were treated as though we shouldnt be there. the general cleanliness was appauling, with plates and cups in the dining room dirty and the carpets through out the hotel were stained. we wanted to come home after a couplke of days and it was the longest 2 weeks of our lives. the waiters inappropriate behavior towards the youth that we were travelling with was totally unacceptable even when we explained that the person in question was a minor this did not deter them. the hotels prices are on average 4 times more than local sources. however the local area is limited somewhat local gifts and produce is grossly inflated and most items are available in the uk for less, however the local landscape is the one gem in its crown and the beach is glorious.

i would rate it as 3 not 5 ultra all inclusive ,and compare to other 5 star turkish hotels such as Delphin Botanik ,which was a paradise this was a nightmare hotell,,
food is bad, nothing at night snacks ,animation very very bad,old swimming pool , nothing for kids, you can hear noise from near nighclub, no sea near ,only by mini bus, alcohol is bad, personal VERY rude, dirty rooms some days ,don,t clean every day, and no condition all the time only certain hours....
well it,s good for party animals as city centre 10 minutes walk and same sea,and night club RAI,which is good.NOT FOR A FAMILY with kids

“ok, would not stay again”

overall the hotel was not bad. the pool was a good size . room was ok although our room did not overlook the pool. bed was a bit annoying as was 2 singles pushed together , therfore you end up sleeping in the gap. there were some ants in the bathroom.
restraunt again ok , food was a bit bland. pretty much the same every day.
we were all inclusive, however this does not include the named band alcohol ie smirnoff jack daniels.
some staff were very friendly some not so. we were there for one week and was the only english there. mainly russians and germans.
they have a spa downstairs which we paid 120tl each for turkish bath and massage , which we had booked for the day before we went home. however we found the same thing down the road for 30tl. we then asked to cancel the hotel one which in the end they agreed although they kept 20%. .
entertainment was not good at all and was not in english.
would recomend the bar on the beach (not part off the hotel).
not bad enjoyed the holiday although would probly not recommend for english or lone travellers.

“Previous reviews terrified us before we went, however they couldnt have been more wrong”

Having booked our summer holiday on last minute.com at... well... the last minute, I was somewhat apprehensive when on googling our hotel I came across this site with its reems of bad reviews.
I would just like to leave a review reassuring anyone else who has booked a stay at The Meder Resort that it is far from the shoddy resort described previously. I don't know if they've made some adjustments sinse these other visitors went there but our experience of the resort was extremely pleasent.

The only trouble we had all week was with the air con in our room which was a little weak on a couple of the days but bar that our room was gorgeous, very clean and well maintained.
The food was lovely, different each night and with a turkish theme on the last night which was delicious. Even between meals there was a snack bar by the pool which provided good quality bbq food and an ice cream stand in the early afternoon.
Drinks were all all-inclusive as long as you stuck to the local brands which was fine. The beer on tap was trebor (much to the delight of my other half as we had expected a watery local brand). Cocktails wern't included however. Although most of the pricing is in euros we had no trouble paying in Leera.

The staff's english wasn't always brilliant but all were keen to talk to us and when they discovered our nationality all were suprisingly eager to improve their english. All were extremely friendly and had adequate english to make conversation and a joke or two!
The staff on the front desk had good english and when we wanted help to arrange our transfer back to the airport they were very helpful.

Location wise it was perfect, only a short walk to the shops and bars and the beach was literally round the corner (there was a shuttle bus to the beach which amazed us as it was literally a 2 minute walk!)

Basically without wanting to ramble on any more, I just wanted to reassure any perspective travellers that it is a good hotel with good food and good staff and was a pleasure to stay at.
