I went to the Lara Plaza Hotel on the 2-10 july 2005
When i booked a holiday for my boyfriend and i to go fully inclusive to the Lara Plaza Hotel in Antalya, i was very excited!!!
Firstly, when we arrived at 3 in the morning, we were hearded round like cattle!! The staff at reception were absolutely awful and were so unfriendly! We had a band slapped on our wrists and were sent directly to our rooms!!!
The Room:
When i saw the room i nearly fainted!!! Firstly, there were two single beds, so we had to sleep seperately.
Secondly, you couldnt swing a cat in this tiny box shaped room! I went into the bathroom and it was unbelievable what i saw. The toilet was in the middle of the tiny room, the sing was on top of the toilet, (you couldnt stand in front of the sink, you had to stand to the side of it as the toilet was under it!) , then the shower was behind the toilet! In order to take a shower you had to first climb over the toilet, which is ludacrus!!!! The balcony could fit one tiny person on it at any one time and the balcony door wouldnt lock! We never had hot running water and when we tried to complain the staff couldnt understand a word you were saying, so we had to just live with this! We would shower in warmish-cold water, good job the weather was hot!
The Food:
I have been to many many places all over the world and europe fully inclusive which has not always met my standards but you could get by! The service and options at this hotel was absoultely diabolical!!!! Fully inclusive? I THINK NOTTT!!!!!! You had one set meal twice a day and if you didnt like it, then that was it! You could either take a chance and eat their disgusting gone off salad and bread or just starve! Breakfast was the funniest thing! The only hot thing they had at brekky time was a hard boiled egg!!! the rest was salad, cheese and bread! WHO EATS THAT FOR BREAKFAST!!??
There were only three drinks that you were entitle to that were included in your package, the local beer, the cheepest wine they could find, and also a local spirit! All three were absolutely disgusting and the juices they provided were watered down to just water in the end!
I have never been on holiday and lost weight! But this time i did as there was nothing edible!
The Pool:
The pool was the best thing about this hotel as it was huge! The only downside was that when any glasses or anything were smashed, the staff would just quite simply sweep it into the pool or into a corner!!!! Alot of young children were always cutting themselves to pieces because of this. How unsafe!!!!
WATCH OUT FOR WHEN YOUR FULLY INCLUSIVE RUNS OUT!!!!
A friend that my boyfriend and i had met in the same hotel was victimised on the last day of our holiday. There is no rep at all and no one tells you anything but apparently your fully inclusive runs out at 12 o clock lunchtime. Our flight was at 2am the following morning and anything we wanted to eat or drink we would have to pay for until then. This meant your really only paying for 6 days fully inclusive instead of the 7 that they say you are! None of us were told anything like this and therefore we didnt know we had to pay any extra for eating or drinking the awful food!
In the magazine where this holiday was advertised it said that the jecuzzi and sauna are free, yet when you went down to have them you were charged!!!
This hotel is definately the worst hotel i have ever had the misfortune to visit! There was absolutely no entertainment and my boyfriend and i had to go out most days to eat which cost us alot more money. People who were there for two weeks moved hotels as it was no longer safe for their young children who kept on cutting themselves on the glass. Unless your german or russian, (or anything but english) i would not reccommend going to this awful place!! i dont think i will ever go back to turkey!!!!!
