“Excellent hotel”

We went to the Mardan Palace for the New Year. Althought the hotel was very crowded, the service was super. First of all we checked-in the comfy sofas and offered drinks. Then we were taken to a spacious room with a large balcony. İt wasn't a suit, but in most of the hotels it is. The view was the largest pool in Europe with Kizkulesi(Maiden Tower) in it as a restaurant. There was free wifi inthe room too. The room was clean and tidy. The curtains, bed linens, towels are of good choice. İn the restaurant there was a variety of delicious food. The stuff was very friendly too. They were all smiling. The garden is very big with wide range of plants. I am really shocked about the bad comments. Where do these people live, in a Palace? Even if so it is same as Dolmabahce Palace. People shouldnt write bad comments to upgrade their rooms.

“Best of its peers in the neighbourhood by far”

The hotels on the drive to this hotel are fascinating and all pretty large. Then you pull up to Mardan Palace and realize that you're not in Kansas anymore. The property is magnificent and worth whatever they're charging. Check-in was done from a sofa and we were walked by a staff person to wherever we were asking about. Considering the size of the place, all of the restaurants were much better than expected. The buffet was, as we told our friends, like five star food in a buffet setting.

The only drawback was, from a westerner's standpoint, the gregarious behavior of the guests coming from behind the former Iron Curtain. There is a rule that trousers and collared shirts should be worn at dinner unless of course you happen to be an oil magnate with a prize wife, in which case you are welcome in a soccer/football jersey, shorts and flip flops. And, feel free to speak loudly on your mobile phone for everyone to hear. A small price to pay to have had the pleasure to stay here.

Room Tip: The Ottoman rooms in the Anatolia wing are worth the upgrade; makes you feel like your're in Tur...

“do not believe bad comments go and live this great experience”

I stayed two times at Mardan Palace and never had any simple bad experience. I would like to repeat again , do not worry about your stay . Dont believe the bad comments , if hotel is not at the city center , if taxi fee is expensive it doesnt mean that hotel is bad, If the drinks and extras are more expensive than others PLS NOTE THAT MARDAN PALACE IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN OTHER HOTELS , quality , service , pool , staff everything is different. You can not buy the quality cheaper rates ..
I love to stay at this hotel

“magnificient,grand,wonderful.....yet not theultimate it claims to be”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

utterly maginficient property set in a grand bygone era grandeur and style and wonderfully complimented by modern day facilities, and staff who cant do enough for you especially in restaurants.
however it lacks the total luxury/ultimate experience it claims to be
we chose the full board option which i recommend strongly as food and drink prices are not for fainthearted (a glass of beer for euro 8)
the food although good was nothing special and after few days got very very repetetive
no prime cuts or prawns or fish on offer which is strange given its on seaside
the property isquiet isolated as its the last one on a long stretch where are top hotels are located, hence getting to and back from restaurants/bars etc is expensive
the hotel does not provide a shuttle to town which is quiet ridiculous as all others do provide this service
there is no entertainment program of any description so families with children please note
overall brilliant but could be purfect.

“Don't stay at Mardan Palace”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

I had a terrible experience and chances are you will as well. The low level staff, i.e. bell hops, bar tenders, etc were great; however, the management is a DISASTER - actually, they're crooks.

Long story short - after experiencing terrible internet service in my room and being told to use the business center (a city block away) for internet and then after returning from the beach covered in sand and salt and having NO HOT WATER in my room - my experience within the first hour - I told the manger I wanted to leave. He insisted I stay because he "did not want me to leave unhappy" and he offered me an new upgraded room and said the room would free. I made absolutely sure we understood each other that he was saying the room was free. I clarified we would only have to pay for other services such as food and bar and he said yes - there was NO mistaking the terms of the offer/deal. FYI - in my new room the AC didn't work when we arrived and had to be repaired and later a fuse blew and all the power in the room went out.

As you might guess, at check out they tried to charge us for the room!!! Liars! I was furious. They tried to say it was a "misunderstanding" - but I asked, "who would misunderstand the terms of the agreement made in English? The native English speaker or the Turkish manager?" Regardless, they insisted the fault was mine and I refused to sign the credit card receipts and called American Express while standing at the counter. Thank goodness for AMEX, it's currently in dispute resolution.

Point is, there are plenty of nice places in Antalya (although Bodrum or Izmir might be better depending on what you're looking for) BUT please DO NOT STAY AT MARDAN RIP OFF - you'll thank me!!!
