“I was disappointed and even got a little depressed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

I'm 26 female,and I was there with my sister this year,July (2010) the location wasn't really good.very small yard and lobby.when I got there first it felt like I have just entered an office..the food was- without exaduration-a disaster and when I saw many people everyday make fun of the food there,I realized I wasn't alone feeling that way.the first day you could say you'll survive but after a few days..well you have to experience that personally to know what I'm talking about. there were no indoor restaurants so in the burning warmth of a sunny and humid day of Antalya you had to have your lunch in the yard and it wasn't pleasent at all.well that might not be a serious problem to everyone though. the environment of that hotel was gloomy.and didn't have a very good atmosphere in General.most of the staff didn't speak English and if you had a problem,it could really get on your nerve unless you found the only 2 people there that spoke a little English.I can't say there were very friendly.the service in general was bearable. if it wasn't for the wireless internet there and I hadn't brought my laptop I could be bored to death.those were hot days and you couldn't stay out too much before afternoon and there wasn't anything in that hotel to enjoy and when you steped out there wasn't much to do unless you would take a bus to go somewhere more interesting.I have been to Turkey several times,to different cities and stayed both at 4 star and 5 start hotels.and honestly,this trip was the worst of all.just don't think that because you want to pay for a 4 star hotel then you deserve to endure just every thing! there are many 4 start hotels in Antalya which are far better than Lara Hadrianus .I'm just saying if you are planing for a pleasent trip and something nice to look back at in the future,then you want to consider another hotel.

“friendly and brilliant staff, clean,Fabulous Holiday !!!”

The staff are great and really friendly, and they try to learn English!!
the manager is great too !!!
This hotel is lovely quiet clean.
nice big pool , wireless internet in the lobby,
The hotel sits 10 minutes walk to the public beach but there is another beach that the hotel service took the passenger there twice a day;
the airplane noise don't bother that much and after all the passenger are not in the hotel all the time;
you can have what ever you want at any time you want until 10 p.m.
The food was great, specially the breakfast, it's wasn't the same everyday,and even if you had boiled eggs and sausages, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, some sort of salami, honey, marmalade, cereals and milk, everyday, you could choose to eat one of theme each day, you don't have to eat theme in the same time at one breakfast!!!!

I had a very good time there and I recommend it to everyone!!!

“Fabulous Holiday at the Hadrianus! The staff are brilliant!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2009

Firstly, I felt I had to write a review after reading all the pretty poor reviews of the place,
Secondly, if you pay rock bottom prices for a hotel, you cant expect 5 star standard. if you want 5 star, go stay in Lara Beach!

In June, myself and my partner booked 6 day break, staying at the Hadrianus Hotel.
Bit apprehensive as very poor reviews on the place!

I'll start off with the bad points, as that seems to be what people like to read;

-This hotel, is very similarly named to another Hadrianus hotel, which is a bit out in the sticks I am told, a lot of taxi drivers do not know where it is even though it is only ten minutes from the airport, so its a good idea to write down the address and show it to the driver when you go.

OK Bad points, all one of them, done. Well, there's one more, later...

Checked in, v late at night, bit of a cuffuffle finding it, but eventually I spotted it and got the driver to take us there. Checked in, around 11.30PM, possibly bit later, check in was very fast, and reception staff were very efficient, even though they speak barely, ok, no, english. As previous travellers have said, myself and my Boyfriend were the only english people in the hotel, this we didnt find out until day one. However, on check in, we were hot so thought we'd go sit by the pool and relax before going to bed. A group of Turkish people waved us over to some comfy beds in the corner and pointed out the bar etc and were very friendly, though spoke no english. (this sentence will become a theme of my report...)
OK got to room, basic, but very clean, very nice bathroom, though tiny shower. Small balcony, but then, we werent there to spend every day in our room! NB- Beds were single beds pushed together, not sure if all rooms were like this, but ours was...
Considering how clean the room was we didnt complain about the beds and just unpacked.
Ok, here is bad point No 2 - Breakfast! I lived on bread and cucumber, and some turkish meat, which to this day Im unsure of its origin...german sausage perhaps? Was amazingly rather nice though! So, we were thinking, better stock up on food as this is a bit diabolical, but to be fair Im jst not very adventurous so breakfast was a huge let down for me.
Got to the pool - Very nice, big, clean, etc. All beds have cushons and none broken.
Slide is a lot of fun, and this slide, is perhaps what made the holiday for us! We decided to invent our own kind of water sports, not sure why the hotel advertises water sports becasue there are none, so, anyway, the slide...We decided, itd be fun to go down said slide on our inflatable ring and lilo, this provided not only hours of entertainment, but, I cannot believe I am about to say this, also provided.....FRIENDLY FOREIGNERS! There were German people, Russian people, Turkish People, Bulgarian People, and Iranian people, all wanting to join in, all take photos together, have a laugh and a drink together, and have a group game of Volleyball, (ish). More, throw the ball around to eachother ball, but, not the point. From day one, everyone was so friendly, and we all had a good laugh together even though languages were an issue. We spwapped email addresses with a couple of people there too!
Now, entertainment, as previous review stated, this is a pool table and ping pong, though Im not sure why they were charged as we werent.
We got very lucky purely because we made a huge effort to get along with the staff, if you do this the whole experience changes. We made an effort to learn some turkish words from the lady at the on site gift shop, and we lend her our Turkey guide book so she could learn some english words with her boyfriend who also worked at the hotel. After this, we were given free sheisha pipe, had the waiters bending over backwards to get us a table at the restaurant each time we came down for food, and they even went off to get us drinks from the bar! They were so nice. The barman Erdal, was fabulous, he made us special cocktails, and had a laugh with us each day.
The food, like I said, after breakfast I was panicking slightly, but lunch and dinner, although a bit repetitive, was pretty good! Various kebab meats, rices, chips, pizza, salad, stews, chicken, fish etc, there was a lot of choice! Depends what time you got down there as to how hot it was but I have no complaints. I noticed that if people didnt make an effort with the staff you didnt get much back, perhaps leading to the above comments in other reviews, but make a huge effort with staff and they will do anything they can to make your stay better. We were hot, so they let us in the pool in the middle of the night, we were still in the bar after hours, but they carried on letting us drink for a while. They knew we were visiting our english friend who was working in Antalya and they not only allowed her into the hotel, but allowed her to use the pool, eat the food, and use the all inclusive...(This Im told, continued after we went home, she still pops in with her friends for a swim.)
On our last day, sob...
We got up late, oops, and missed our check out time, so was awaiting THE PHONE CALL. Said call never came, not only this, we wree allowed to keep our bags in the room all day, and keep our key. When the maid came to clean she just put our stuff to the site and prepared the room. We were allowed to keep using all facilities, and our flight, wast until 1 am the following day so we just left our bags in the room and carried on in the bar, which was nice. There was a show, turkish dancers, very good, music was bit repetitive but was a good mix of english and turkish music.
In the area, can very easily get a Dolmus (bus) to the shopping malls or the market, some good bargains to be found there! Many good food restaurants near the hotel, and the beach is local and very nice. Local shop sells water, cigarettes, booze, sweets, ice cream etc.
Lastly, yes the hotel is near the airport so you do see the planes going overhead, which I thought was pretty cool, to see a plane in the air so close, can be noisy, but DOES NOT shake the hotel at all. That is utter rubbish and exaggeration.
So, am very jealous of anybody visiting, the manager has even said we can return for free, so I may just return soon, but enjoy your stay, and say hi to Erdal at the bar from Cheryl and Ross :) XX And tell him you want raki and coke!
Amhappy to send photos to anyone if they message me, uploading to the review takes farr to long!

“Not as good as they say”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2009

This hotel should really be ranked as a 2 stars hotel. The staff are impolite and the food is always the same. I should also mention that no one in this hotel knows English! The rooms are clean and the pool is fine.

“Stay well clear”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2009

Location
The hotel sits 10 minutes walk to the public beach and in direct line to the runway, close enough that pretty much every airplane that took off was loud enough to shake the floor and set off almost every car alarm in the complex parking next to the hotel. The hotel sits in a location The hotel has a detailed list of what services it offers, most are false or so far bent from the truth that they may as well be false. The minibar is a fridge in a cupboard that you can stock from a local shop. Air conditioning is only in the rooms as the rest are all turned off and its advisable to take an old plastic card to stick in the room key switch or you’ll find your room a sweat-box. The disco/club is a dingy smelly room on a sub level with a tacky stereo and pre-recorded cd’s. The game room is a pool and ping-pong table available at extra cost (5 euros per hour). The snack / pool bar is the only bar and the snacks are only available at 5pm on a grab it while its there basis.

Guests
My wife and I were the only English speaking people in the hotel. In general all guests are either German or Turkish speaking. I’d have to say that most of the guests were either travel agents or employees of the airlines and used as a rest area for pilots and cabin crew who were “out of hours”. From leaving the airport till the time we were back at the airport we met not a single English national or person fluent in our native language.

Restaurant
Alfresco eating would best describe. The only indoor eating area is the entire complex away and you’ll have to walk your plates there. The buffet menu on the first day for breakfast, dinner and tea is exactly the same every day consisting of curried meat, salad, cooked sausage in sauce and various accompaniments all tasting primarily of greek yoghurt. There is some show cooking in the evening meal but on my experience some of what you received was still raw in the middle and therefore inedible. The puddings were nice but again, every day had the same menu. No variety whatsoever.

Private Beach
Rented beach space about 40 minutes walk from the hotel would best describe it. There exists a bus service that takes you to and from between mealtimes (or so they claim). In actual fact the bus service is a man in a car that will take you to the beach and then leave you stranded on most occasions so you have to walk back or call a taxi which will cost you about 10 lira every time. All activities at the beach are at extra cost and quite expensive when compared to the prices experienced on other holidays.

Activities
The hotel boasts about its adult entertainment and water sports activities. The entertainment consisted of a CD player, large speakers and two sets of spotlights on the sun terrace constantly playing pre-recorded CD’s in the day (2 European and possibly 2 or 3 foreign) and local music in the evening so the Turkish guests could dance around in circles. The shows consisted of two dance acts in the full week we were there which, to be fair, were quite good. The water sport was the slide, so called because they turned the water pumps on twice a day for a 1 hour spell mid afternoon and 2 hours later on in the day.

Shopping/Pricing
All prices in the hotel were displayed in Euros so as to extract more money from the guests. A beer from the bar costs 3 euros, Local Vodka 4 euros and international drinks such as Bacardi at 7 euros. The shop is nothing more than souvenirs available cheaper in the local shop 100 yards from the front door of the hotel.

Generally speaking the whole experience was terrible and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even my enemies.
