“Great hotel with lots of activities for the kids.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2011

Was visiting Utopia World June 2010 and I must say that its a good hotel with lots of actvities for the kids and it was one of the reasons for going there. We had a really nice sea view from our hotel room. I do understand when people are not satisfied living in tha villa park and have to use all the stairs up to to hotel restaurang.
The negative parts was that the hotel seems to have an invation from eastern europe, mostly russian people that did not know how to behave, did not know what que is. Sad !!
5 stars ? well more of 4 I would say..

“ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD!!”

Having got a last minute deal , and looking at the website, my Aunt and I were very excited about going to this hotel. Dont worry about finding it - even driving in the dark as we were - you cant miss it lit up on the top of the hillside. Beware - it is a fair distance from Alanya so would be expensive if you wanted to pop in by taxi. The hotel building lived up to the website in standard and panorama. The views were amazing and the infinity pool a particularly good place for photos. The villa room that we had was of a good standard too with pine forest and mountain views from the balcony. However, because it was late into season all the water park and surounding pools were closed. Only one A la Carte restaurant was open and during the week we were reduced to only two bars in the evening. All inclusive drinks were limited - Mojitos were made with vodka as Bacardi or white rum was chargable, and the gin was vertually undrinkable. You have to have the constitution of a mountain goat to get around the hotel as stairs and slopes are steep and maintenance in places was trecherous. This became a particular problem for my Aunt. Sleep was interupted by paper thin walls and a cleaning lady who seemed to have based herself in the room next to ours. She "argued" VERY loudly on the comunal telephone outside our door from Stupid O'clock most mornings, then banged on the door around 8.30 to get in to clean - apart from the couple of days she forgot to clean at all!
Our worst complaint would be the food. I would like to think that this was due to the time of year because I cannot believe this would pass for 5 star fodder in ordinary cirucumstances. Salads were lovely - and desserts too. However, you could guarantee Frankfurter sausages in either beans or some kind of stew would appear every day, and if not finished in the evening sitting would appear again for lunch the next day! Vegitables were bland and a real let down on Turkish culinary cuisine. If you are a meat fan this is not the place for you. One night we were served neck of lamb that my dogs would have refused. Roast chickens served in sauce had the constitution of a weight lifter, and the ever present brussells prouts could have been used by the Turkish army for ammo. Even chicken fillets could be desicrated beyond description. Unfortuntately we ended up using another beach as my Aunt couldnt bring herself to use the VERY high bridge and lift to the hotel beach, and we also ate out quite a lot as the food was so poor. To finish, there was no hot water to be had after 4.30. All in all not such a bargain after all!

Perfect Chillout location! Dont be put off by the location of this Hotel when you see the views when you get there is is worth it! Plently of lifts and mini buses every 15 minutes to beach or Aqua Park all day long, walk acroos a bridge to lifts down to a private beach with snack bar etc. Steps aren't too bad though good exercise and you don't have to be super fit. We did not find the steps a problem Panoramic Views gorgeous Day & Night! Very CLEAN hotel if you stand still long enough I am sure you would be cleaned too. All staff where very friendly and couldn't do enough for us! Relax Pool was my favourite(Totally chilled out there), Main Pool was great for activities for all ages all day, Invinity Pool was pretty cool too. Aqua park was my daughters favourite. Lots of pool bars and bars to enertain you all night even a small nightclub! My Husband and I travelled with our 12 year old daughter, we all enjoyed the Utopia experience! Not too many English people in this hotel which was not a problem for us! Met some really cool Dutch, Turkish & Ukranian families. Some very rude Russian, but also some ok Russians which I am sure you get if you go anywhere in the world! Would definately go back! Especially recommend Massages & Turkish bath Excellent! Recommend hotel room which is more central to everything the hotel offers,Even though many villa rooms where not located too far!

“My only advice in life would be: STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

We stayed here from August 14, 2010 till August 21, 2010. I read a lot of reviews before we booked our stay at Utopia World: we took a room outside of the hotel in an "appartment building" (they call it a "villa room") so I knew we would have to take a lot of steps before we would get to the main areas of the hotel, that was not a problem to us.

Oh, first night was hell. I literally heared everything my neighbours were saying... if they opened the door of the minibar, I could hear it. Even when they were whispering or yawning, I could hear it!!! The walls are very thin. It came to a point that I couldn't bear it anymore, so in the middle of the night, I walked all the way back to the hotel and went to the reception and demanded another room, this was just not acceptable! The girls behind the reception couldn't speak English, that was really annoying... I mean: how can you not speak English when 99% of your guests are foreigners?! Why don't they place people behind the reception that can SPEAK ENGLISH?!

Anyway, I had to pay 10 EURO extra per night to get another room. I thought it was quite unfair that they put the burden on me.. how can a 5-star hotel provide such terrible rooms?! As desperate as we were to get a good night rest, I paid the money. I'm glad that we did, cause we got a room in the hotel and it was MUCH NICER than the villa rooms.

Besides that, I got food poisening during my stay, so be aware! Avoid getting icecubes in your drinks!

Location is terrible as well, the only place nearby is the centre of Alanya. It costs 25 EURO to get there by taxi. (15 minutes) So a day trip to Alanya cost us 50 EURO only for transportation! There's a bus that goes to Alanya as well, it takes about an hour and only costs 1 EURO per person! So DO NOT GET A TAXI TO GET TO ALANYA! The bus stops

The only nice thing I can say about this hotel, are the workers in the restaurant. They work very hard and they keep the place very clean. For that, I give 4 points out of 5 for cleanliness and 4 out of 5 points goes to the cleaners and waiters/waitresses in the restaurant for service and for the people behind the bar.

BUT: no credit for the people behind the reception, very unhelpful, they never smile. they can't even speak English! stay far away from the villa rooms: it will cause sleepless nights!

“Great Place for teenagers”

We were staying at a villa in Yesiloz about 10 minutes away. We took the 4 teenagers to the waterpark and paid the day rate. We had a fantastic time and were able to eat the buffet and have local drinks etc. The staff were very helpful and my 3 boys and my daughter went to the disco most nights and got a taxi back.
There were quite a few Brits and Irish so we found out the Do's and Don't's.
We got so used to it we went 4 times.
