“If you are English then stay the away (you are in a minority) - try the 5* next door!!!”

We have just got back (18 Sept '11) and before we went we knew that the hotel would be mainly Germans. we thought that this wouldn't be a problem as we normally get-by with the language barrier - this is not the case, they were more likely Russian and they came across as aggressive.

On a positive note, we thought that the hotel was 'in the middle of nowhere' - the dolphin show is across the road. from the hotel you can easily catch a dolmus into town (approx 35mins @ 3 lira each), to your left is Alanya town and very friendly with English bars including Burger King and the markets of course. there is also a play park, harbour and fun fair. To you right is a small town/village with lots of places to eat/drink and shop and you are made to feel welcome from the start. This is probably a 7 min drive in a taxi and can vary (so make sure you get a fair deal).

We paid for a large family room (highest bracket) and were astounded to find that we had 3 beds shoved together and a sofa bed. We arrived at 3am and were offered something to eat (don't bother unless you just want a piece of bread). We have 2 children yet we were left with just 3 pillows and 3 blankets. However, the chambermaids kept the rooms very clean and orderly and provided clean towels and bed sheets daily.

The all-inclusive drinks deal on offer is vodka, gin or ffes - all the 'real deal' but you paid for all the others and were on offer in the evenings from a drinks trolley. the pool bar staff were unhelpful and the plastic cups and coffee cups were mostly dirty. on a couple of occasions I had to ask for a cup as there were none out on display. the drinking water tasted foul so we would recommend purchasing this from the shops across the way.

The entertainment was bad, the music that blasted out all day was mainly dance music but with terrible language added. this was okay i suppose if you are Turkish or Russian as their children wouldn't understand it, but my 10yr old and her friends noticed!!! The was a 15min kids disco was nice but there was no kids club!! My ten year tells me that there was, it consisted of a small shed in the shape of a rock situated under the slides and next to the DJ but there was only ever 1 child in at any time - personally i thought it was also closed!!!

the food was vile, even the chips!!! we eat out 3 nights and we were all starving!!! the first two nights were the best when they served us brussel sprout soup with freshly baked bread, followed by chicken (we made ourselves some chicken butties - no butter tho). The second night was some weird salty soup & bread, followed by chicken kebab from a spit tho we all had to wait 45mins for the chicken.

Round the pool is very slippy and you need to be careful at all times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although it is a bonus to be offered proper alcohol, you must be careful as this is not very wise on an empty stomach!!!!!!!!!!!! (you get pissed quick).

Don't leave your showers too late as you will get cold water!!!

The weather is very hot so leave your fob in the air con and just take your room key with you.

You go under the subway to get to a small private beach. the water is very unsafe for children and although my 10yr old goes to a swimming club, she was banned from going in on her own. the sand is very grainy.

Thank god we met some great friends on this holiday and had such a laugh!!!!

Room Tip: We paid for the large family room (4th floor) which was the highest price bracket however all the ro...

Bad food, bad service, unfriendley manager, dirty plastic cup's that they give you for all your drink's, at the pool,at the beach and even in the restaurant! I don't think they have a dish washer in the building.
No one understands any English we had to point to everything we wanted. The hotel is full of russians they are very unfrieldley and will push you out of the way to get food in the restaurant! Me and my partner both had food poisoning from the hotel food, It is BAD, BAD, BAD!! Please do not book this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room over looking the pool, The music was extremely loud started at 10am and carried on u...

“loved it but could have been better!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

when we arrived we were told that the room we had booked was not free so we had to wait till a double bedroom was found and when we did find one they could not find a pillow we went to bed at half 4 in the morning and had arrived at half 2 in the morning in the morning we had missed break fast and had woken up to load club music which included rude langue.the people there were very nice but we could understand them very well because they were all Turkish or Russia. the mini club was very good and the music at night was very good also they had shows to amuse us at night but the music and some parts were not subtitle for children like the men were asked to strip and the women were asked to do 10 sexy poses for the camera.but i did enjoy everything else i would recommend this holiday for honeymoon couples and couples and groups of young friends! so enjoy but this not a good vacation for familes with young children (at least younger than 14)

“the worst hotel i have ever stayed in”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2010

Unfortunately all reviews here are in german which did not help me to figure out what the hotel was like and inspite of having an idea of the word "slecht" meaning i still went ahead and booked it for me and my family(((( what a bad decision that was.
We went to the hotel Asrin Beach in September 2010 to meet my family. It took me a while to find something we could book from the UK and from another country at the same time.
After days of browsing the internet for reviews and official rating of various hotels i found Asrin Beach and trusted the Tripadvisor 4* rating.
I would not say i am a very fussy person and i know you should not expect much when you go to the 4* hotel in Turkey, but I certainly did not expect to eat an oversalted sausage boiled/fried/fried in tomato sauce every day! Or holes in matrasses! Or the lack of service and waiters constantly arguing and fighting with each other! I mean fighting like hitting each other with fiests, shouting and kicking!!!
An attempt to complain to the, so called "manager" ended up in a massive row with a man behaving very agressively, shouting at me and calling me names!!!! That was the worst part of it all. And that was the beginning as well! This is when you feel the helplessness as you have already paid the money and like it or not you have to deal with it for a very long week.
We could probably try to find somewhere else to stay at an extra cost, but it was impossible to do anything for the rest of my family who came with a russian travel agency.
Apart from that there were a lot of other issues like not being able to check in and having arrived at 7pm being told that we could not get our room until 4 am!! After making some noise we managed to get a room for ourselves, but that left one group of our family in the exact same situation, so we had to share the room in the end.
That was quite some holiday and all i can say is please do not go there. The hotels is more like a 2* place and you would not get any service. And after all it is not just about service it is more the idea of paying money to go to a place like that. It is more like a military camp where you do not get to chooose, to talk, have to obey all rules and will have someone checking your bag on the way out of the "restaurant" if God forbid you take something out for a child who just would not come out of the pool! They are not ashamed to ask you to open your bag, on the contrary they feel they are right and if you refuse to do what they say they will grab your bag and open it anyway! i saw that happening and was horrified.
I felt sorry for putting my family through that. If only someone told me what it is like there.
That holiday made me realise that it is not fair to look for reviews and not to leave any as my experience may stop someone from booking that particular place and spend a bit more time in the internet but find the right place where they can relax and enjoy a bit of sun) Turkey has got a lot to offer. This experience is not going to stop me from going to Turkey. But i think i am now more itnerested in renting a villa or a flat.
