“Great hotel, great staff. Really a kid-friendly hotel!”
We stayed at apartroom at 6th floor with separate bedroom for parents. Kids sleeped in livingroom sofas-turned-to-beds. We really liked the huge balcony with view to Castle and to sea. AirCon is a must, they charge extra for it but we would never have survived without it ;) If you want to use the safe you must also pay for it. The whole hotel complex is covered with free wireless internet connection. Ask the password from the reception. They even rent the laptop if you need that (it was about 2€ for a few hours)
Apartroom had basic cooking facilities, water boiler and the refrigerator. Room was cleaned daily and towels changed. Good cleaning service!
Pool area was much used with our kids during the holiday. There are separate pools for toddlers and deeper pool for bigger kids and for adults. Both had plenty of space all the time! There were enough sunchairs for everybody at the hotel area. They also sold tickets to rent sun chairs from the Keykubat beach. I think they were about 5€/day.
Breakfast table was really great. Lots of different food were laid out. Several kind of fresh fruit, bread, sausages, scrambled eggs, cheese, french fries, cornflakes, boiled eggs etc.
Hotels own restaurant was actually pretty good. Great fajitas and excellent pizzas for decent prices. Kids also liked their dessert icecream portions.
The whole staff seemed very nice and they all gave our kids special attention. They were smiling, chatting and goofing around all the time with the kids! So it is really a family-friendly hotel!
Hotel has its own minimarket but there is a SOK market only a block away with decent selection of basic stuff. We bought water, bread, cheese, ham, bananas etc from there. For example bottlewater costs about 1€ in 5 litre cans.
Sea is easily within the walking distance from the hotel and there are several nice kids playgrounds and nice parks next to walking route (for example Sadullahoğlu Park). But of course you can also use the taxi. Drive from hotel to Ataturk Statue costs less than 15 liras (~6,5€) and to Kleopatra beach less than 10€. We had baby strollers with us all the time and that proved to be a great decision for us. Our 4 year old now could just sit, relax and enjoy the scenery while rest of us walked around the city.
Btw. Damlatas Aqua Park is REALLY RECOMMENDED! Excellent water slides and several pools to choose from. Only downside is that you cannot bring any food or beverages there. You must leave them at the gate and you will get them back when you leave.
Nice holiday, nice city and excellent hotel!
