“Great Last Minute holiday!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Our flight was delayed so we arrived to Green Park in the early hours of the morning. On arrival the man took our bags and showed us to our room. We paid for air conditioning- which was around 90 lire for one room, for one week. You will definitely need it as it very hot at night.
The appartment was huge, with two twin rooms, both with a balcony. Bathroom was spacious, with fab shower. Kitchen very basic, with fridge, and limited cooking equimpent. The maid cleaned daily, changing towels etc, and was friendly. Overall the appartment is basic but clean.
The pool area is great, however you are not allowed to drink any of your own drinks (including water) which was a pain as meant we had to buy at the bar. Plenty of room to sunbath- did get quite busy, and usual "sunbed hogging" with towels took place, but that is pretty much everywhere these days!

Cleopatra Beach (white sand, blue sea) is a short walk away- turn right out of Green Park and keep walking. Main harbour, and town is a taxi ride away (10lire) and busy in the evening but good fun.

Overall I would recommend Green Park for a last minute holiday with friend or partner- don't expect luxury but certainly met our needs (two 20 something girls on a last minute hol).

Me, my husband & our 2 boys have just come back from greenpark apartments, and i can honestly say it was one of the best holidays we have ever been on! There are loads for the kids to do, they have 2 big slides, mini-golf, table tennis, mini-bowling all free of charge & then they have a pool table & a football pitch that you have to pay for!! All he staff are really nice, they absolutly love kids!! The rooms get cleaned daily, fresh towels daily & fresh bedding every other day!! The food is really nice too, and cheap!! Theres a free bus that takes you to the beach and picks you back up again!! The atmosphere is just so relaxed, i honestly dont know how people can say its the worst holiday they have been on, all i can say is, go there with an open mind & dont let these reviews put you off because we were dreading our holiday after reading them but we had a fantastic time and will hopefully be returning next year!!!

“Another Green Park Holiday, slightly different to the last!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Green Park, and I have to be honest I was a little disappointed this time. The place seems to have been taken over by the Dutch - and not just families but single sex groups. During our two week stay there was a group of 7 Dutch girls and 9 Dutch boys. The boys were extremely rowdy and I didn't feel my children were safe on the water slides while they were there because they were so boisterous. Luckily our room was no where near theirs, but we did speak to families who were above and below them and they were fed up with the noise from them. The hotel manager was extremely grumpy and unhelpful this year (last year we had him dressed up as a Blues Brother and he was a great sport!) My son fell down some stairs with the room key in his hand, and the electricity fob smashed. The manager charged us £20 to replace it, even though we explained he had slipped on wet stairs! I got the feeling he was having a bad week as we knew there had been many complaints about the Dutch boys, and we got the brunt of his anger. Still, there is no excuse for rudeness.

We were told the rooms were fully booked so we couldn't keep our room on the last day (they usually let you keep your room for 40 lira extra) - check out was at 12pm, pick up time was 9.15pm so we ended up having to shower (freezing cold water) by the pool and change in the toilets. It was at this time the hotel receptionist accused me of trying to steal 4 white towels that we had borrowed from the room in order to get showered. Did he expect us to use the beach towels we had used for 2 weeks, or maybe just drip dry in the foyer? We did hear that they are proposing to build a shower and changing facility down by the main pool area, so hopefully this will be ready for next year.

On a happier note - the bar manager Aydin and his trusty staff were just as friendly and helpful as ever. Aydin even brought his baby daughter in to meet us! We had great fun with them all yet again. The hotel manager needs to appreciate that its his faithful and hardworking staff who bring the customers back year after year. The pool and surrounding area is always spotless, the snack food is great value for money, although the al a carte menu could do with an update. There seems to be a lack of sunbeds this year, and this could be easily rectified as there is enough space to accommodate at least another twenty or thirty. The weekly entertainment was equally as good as last year, but there could've been more activities (such as pool games ) for the kids during the day.

All in all, we had another fabulous holiday, and we are already planning to go back next year as part of a group of 3 families who met there two years ago. My children are already counting the weeks and we've only been home 2 days!!!

“worst described hotel in last 20 years of holidaying”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

we have never had to write a review before but were so greatly dissapointed and totally misled by our operator THOMAS COOK that we felt it totally justified.
travelling with a 12 week old baby certain aspects were of high importance and were checked with thomas cook before we travelled.
firstly the transfer was not 30mins. it was actually 2and half hours with ludicrously a 20min 'comfort stop' 10mins before dropping one poor family off !!! coming back we had no thomas cook representitive. just a mini van with faulty airconditioning and the driver-who never spoke to us and who somehow even with the use of a sat nav didnt know where he was going' got completly lost and it was only after stepping out and making several phonecalls that he managed to find the hotel in question-just 2mins fom ours!!!!!!! ludicrously we STILL had to wait an hour untill check in opened.
we also asked thomas cook about the evening entertainment which they described as fortnightly (we had after booking seen a couple of worrying reviews) they made a phone call and confirmed that there was evening entertainment- as described -every night and no of course we didnt have to pay for it.THE REALITY was there was NO evening entertainment. on monday they have a pool party which you can attend if you buy a meal, you get to use the pool-wow!!! and there is a game of football? we gave that a miss!! and on thursday they have a turkish evening again at cost of i think 36tl per person. again we gave that a miss. this was a major dissapointment to us especially having a small baby we were greatly looking forward to having entertainment ie shows/bingo etc. the hotel rep angela seemed mystified why we even thought there would be any!! and why we thought we wouldnt have to pay. unbelievable. never come across this before.
the other thing we asked was for a ground floor apt. we had paid for 2bed. we were told on arrival by a very unfriendly manager that they were busy and we had to have 2nd floor room. we later realised there are NO ground floor rooms. to our dismay we had 8 steps up to the lift and the lift was a real joke. we had a small umberella style buggy for our baby. this just fitted in and as we are of slim build 2 could just squeeze in, being a family of 4 somone always had to walk.there is only one lift. the stairs and corridors are also fairly narrow and was a problem when the maids cleaned as they leave there stuff outside the rooms.
the rooms are big and spacious and have the usual self catering things- designed really so you eat out! they were cleaned every other day or so. one word of warning- they take no notice of the sign you hang on the door and come in anyway- as happened to us on numerous occasion. we had to pay for air conditioning- 5euro per day per air conditioning unit. these are only in the bedrooms. we only paid for 1 as they are so expensive though our daughter in the other room really needed one too as it is very hot in there all day and night. they only work when you're in the room as it is an electric key fob. if you are a family travelling you may want to know that they also house single group occupency in the same blocks which can be very rowdy in the middle of the night.
you ARE next to a very big and busy main rd and though it was entertaining watching the crazy drivers, it was very noisy and throughout the night also -with doors and windows closed.
the staff we found to be very unapproachable, miserable, and lazy. except for the young man and woman on reception who were friendly, none else ever spoke or acknowleged us.
on the 2 days they do have the above mentioned 'entertainment' they clear one pool early- 5pm you are asked to move to the other pool.
the sunbeds are free- as they should be!!!! but there arent enough. they also have very comfy bean bags. we would go to the pool about 3pm every day and there was never anywhere to sit. even though they have clear signs up telling you that towels will be removed from sunbeds if no return within an hour the staff never bothered to check this. the pool was open at 9am- not a minute before. people would hover zombie like to ditch theyr towels then return to their rooms at 9am. the 2 water slides were open 10-12.30 and 3-5pm there are 4 pools, 2 of which are tiny kids pools. the adult pools are very small, the one the slides go into isnt really big enough to be in if the slides are in use, and there certainly isnt room for blow up toys so taking our whale was a waste of time.
we never tried the food it didnt smell nice and to be honest the same people who slothed around all day were doing the food so you feel the quality wont be good. the staff also tend to use the bean bags themselves which is very wrong when youve paid to stay there and they are supposed to be working.
there are rabbits and cats that roam around as indeed many restaurants seem to have. there is also a kids club but never saw in 2 weeks any kids there or using the old and tired looking slide and swings.
the beach is a 25min walk. we did it every morning at 7am to catch the cooler morning sun. if you go left along the beach there is free gym equipment along the beach front- great for burning off your evening meal!!!. the beach and sea is nice, some big waves, nearly 10ft one day. the sand is heavy grain like shingle. the sea warm. we tried a couple of eating places but THE REAL BROTHERS just 2 blocks from the hotel is we found the best. very friendly staff reasonably priced and great variety. THEY really looked after us and made our holiday.
alanya was dissapointing for us as it is quite simply a town. it is not picturesque or have its 'old parts'. there are no street stalls only supermarkets and a bazarr every tuesday. the turkey of old where you get your bargains is long gone. very expensive rip offs. it was also very confusing as some advertise in turkish lira and some in euros which give a very poor rate.if you need a supermarket the A101 seems best- more like lidl or aldi.
it is very hot in the evening you will not need cardis etc lol the weather being the only bonus of the holiday- being guarranteed hot.
hope you read this before you book with this hotel- wish we had lol!!!!!
