We traveled to the above hotel on the 15th July for a 2 week break.
The hotel is basic but all you require for a self catering holiday, you get a fridge with a small freezer section big enough to hold a 1.5ltr bottle water. 2 ring hotplate, plates, bowels and cutlery K/F/S x2 plus 1 not very sharp kinfe. Frying pan big pan and small milk style pot for heating water for tea.
The room could have done with updating but everything worked, basic but clean. The airconditioning and safe cost around 140ytl Lira about £60 for 2 wks you will need the airconditioning if traveling this time of year temps were around 40-45 degrees.
Karim the manager was a very nice guy as were most of the staff. Not much happening around the bar area no entertainment, food could be bought but again very basic plate of chips 5lira, english breakfast 12lira. toast with cheese 5lira.
The bar only sold 1 type of beer and had to run to the shop next door when anyone ordered a diet coke. The owner of the hotel owned the shop too. The pool area was very nice and we saw the staff clean it each night after 8 o'clock.
There is a small lift that will easily take 2 people and cases so no problem lugging them up the stairs. the rooms were given a quick clean and beds made each day if you left your sign outside your door. Our sheets were not changed the whole 2 wks towels changed once. Each room had a large balcony ours faced out to the main road so we could watch the mental driving for entertainment. All the facilities are near hand for you a supermarket is located at the top of the road about 60 mts away turning right when you leave the hotel. A Minimarket is next door to the hotel and a shop selling all the fruit and veg you need over the road to your left + a phone box too. You are a 10-15 min walk from the front. A Taxi rank is a short walk from the hotel and will charge you 7lira Aprox £3 to the red tower at the harbour. so in summing up the hotel is very basic if you want to relax by the pool through the day and go out at night this hotel will do the job its a little bit dated and would benifit from upgrading. just returned from 2 weeks at the kardelen apartments. The previous reviews were accurate description of the property; but don't expect much sign of life near the end of season!The second week there were only 8 guests and despite the warm weather the swimming pool went out of commision. We enjoyed our stay in Alanya - visit the red tower brewery (overlooking the harbour). Good, reasonably priced food at "Comca" and "Flash" restaurants, near apts and "Ottoman House" - in town. Take some Euros (often works out cheaper). "Bim" supermarket cheap for basics (like Lidl)

The Kardelen is an OK hotel. The best way to describe the apart/hotel is 'basic' and clean. The reception and staff are very friendly and will leave you alone unless you want something. The accomodation is basically a bed, a wardrobe and a 2 ring cooker. Luckily all I needed was somewhere to rest my head as I had friends who lived there. If you are planning to spend a lot of time with family members in and around the hotel, you WILL be dissappointed as the entertainment is limited too, but I think yhis is due to the fact that half the guests will be turkish who will expect the minimum of standards. So, in a nut-shell, clean, basic, friendly, not for a family. It was my 17th time in Alanya and travelled with ' My travel ' who were extremely helpful and professiional.

Long journey to Hotel from the Airport but well worth every minuite. On arrival in the early hours the night staff were out with a hug and a very nice wellcome. We were very tired but still managed to laugh with them as we did from the minuite we arrived to the minuite we had to say goodbye, again lots of hugs and farewells.
Kardelen was very clean and quite basic but was a homely place that was easy to relax and enjoy the hospitality. The garden was tropical and quaint, a couple of kiddies things, bannana trees and other delicious fruit which the staff insisted we eat while in the bar. The fruit was delicious and 100% better and bigger than we were used to. The owner had dogs which were allowed out of their kennel and run area when guests wanted a cuddle or a bit of fun and laughter which each one provided.
The streets down to the beach were being repaired and I,m sure they will be in tip top condition the next time we visit.
We have never gone back to a country twice because the world is a big place with lots to see, the trouble is Kardelen appartments would be very hard to better, so it looks like we are sold on this most wonderfull Hotel and area of Alanya.
