“A rundown hotel with excellent staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I cannot understand why Thomas Cook use this hotel for British holiday makers. It is mainly occupied by Germans and Turkish and Ukrainian sports teams. The facilities are basic and not focussed on the British. The one redeeming factor is the staff. They work hard against the odds.
The rooms are very basic and the beds encourage sleepless nights; this is despite the building works 40 feet from the balcony! The TV only shows German and Turkish programmes except BBC World news - without the sound! Sorry but we tried to enjoy ourselves, but eventually got on a coach - for 14 hours - to Istanbul.

Room Tip: Try away from the stairs

“Good Value Half Board in Alanya”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

The hotel is good value, the rooms are small but pleasant and have a fridge and a balcony. The TV has only one channel in English (BBC News) and if there is a winter storm reception often goes on the blink, just when you want to sit inside and watch it, until the weather clears up. The photos of the indoor pool are deceptive, it is actually quite small. Food is excellent, lots of selection, aimed more at Germans than British and you will not find them serving bacon, pork etc, although they are sold in the supermarkets. It is about 1.5km east from the hotel into the centre of Alanya, it is worth going up the promontory to the Castle, you can also get a dolmus to Manavgat and then another dolmus to Side if you want a day out.
If you want to save on transfers, from Antalya Airport look for the blue signs with a white D where you catch Bus 202 (1.75 TL) which goes to the centre of Antalya and then out to the Otogar (coach station) which has two terminals, the intra-provincial one is for Alanya which costs !4 or 15 TL and takes 2 hours, when you arrive at the Alanya Otogar walk one block south to the seaside then about 500m east (left) to the hotel.

“Been burgled by maid.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Went to Alayie hotel formally kleopatra hotel, very nice rooms, but by the third day my wife and two sons and my brother in law caught a sickness bug. When we approached the staff and asked if anyone else was ill they refused to comment. On the penultimate day the maid started to take clothes from my mother in laws suitcase. Which at first we didn't want to believe, but on the last day she took a bottle of perfume from the dressing table. When I confronted the staff they were extremely
unhelpful and rude. Please report any loss we did not enjoy being ridiculed.

“Nice hotel shame about place!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

Firstly i want to say i am a well travelled person and will stay in any hotel with any star rating. This was our first time to turkey and also our last. The hotel isnt by any means as bad as people make out. The rooms although small were clean and had good air con, we also never had a problem with hot water. We didnt want to spend very much of our spending money so ate and drank at the hotel everyday. Food was generally good as with alot of european places they have alot of cultures to cater for so cant always get i right. Drinks were a bit of a bummer for me as i like my cocktails and these were not part of the all inclusive package but i managed just fine. Staff were all very nice, the bar staff were lovely and made our holiday. The shows were entertaining we were not expecting las vegas quality!

Now for the place....Alanya is dirty, the men were leary and pervy, they dont care if women are clearly with their boyfriends/husband they will make comments and whistle which makes u feel uncomfortable and unsafe. All shop and restaurant owners and workers hassle you beyond belief and when you are polite and say no they are rude. Be carefull in the bars when ordering cocktails if you say u want large they double the price to around 40tl which is about £16! Some man threatened to kill my boyfriend unless he gave him a cigarette, he worked on a tshirt stall next door!

In short if you could pick up the hotel and put it somewhere else, job done.
Alayna is rubbish and we will never return!!
