Having stayed in Tunisia on a winter break before I thought i knew what to expect. Unfortunately the revolution has had a detrimental effect on the country, as has the revolution in Libya.
According to hotel staff the Vincci group is owned by a Libyan Millionaire and so during our stay was filled with Injured Libyan soldiers with various amputations, broken bones etc. This did not make for a comfortable stay for tourists. The weather only made this problem worse as we had torrential thunderstorms for a large proportion of the week, not the hotels fault but the 4 point lock on the door to the balcony was broken and so only locked on the top point, and the broken seal on the bottom allowed the water to pour in, so wind noise through the door and water trough the seal gave us no sleep or rest.
Several requests to reception to have the problems rectified were ignored by the staff as Nothing was done!
We both suffered from flea/ant bites during our stay, and we spent hours squashing ants crawling on the floor, but I suspect the bites were flea bites, and the aircon unit both intake and outlet were both filthy.

i have just came back form staying at this hotel. and have to say it ok not the best place have been to the room it self was ok the food was nice the only thing didnt like was the sleazy reception man and the hotel is full of them if ur european get papared to be stared at and the arabe men in hotel try get u sit with them and they let anyone sit in it. if full of libyans and there just as sleazy.but apart form that pek is very nice and also sousse to. it cheap if u like wee shacks these are best places to eat may lok dirty but there not and u can eat there for less that 3 dinars!good night life also.

Red some of the other rewies, and to my big surprise there are some negativ customers! Spent 1 week with my twindaughters (15 yrs) in september 2011. We were all very satisfied, got two epartements (quite spaceful) good cleaning, 24/7 good service at reception and from other employees at the beach, tours etc. The location with 200 m to the beach with activities and a snackbar, a stroll to the marina with restaurants etc. is perfect. Activities in the hotel with various bars, restaurants, spa, bazar, tours etc. is exellent! Wonder what was the reason that some feel that the got lousy/ none service...have we been at the same place??We come back in 2012!!

I went to the vinnci in oct 2011 i really enjoyed staying there rooms were clean large and had everything i needed it had a bath and a shower.had a room on the 4th floor although there was a bit of a building site opporsite the view of the sea made up for it.
thought the staff were friendly and helpful
the beach was clean and white sands
food was great lots of choice i ate there 3 times a day every day and didnt have the same thing twice.
it was quite dark in placs but that created a nice ambiance it is tunisia after all.
the only down side was that the pool was really cold .
i found travelling round pek very easy and the marina is lovely at night.
towels and bedding changed daily
