“Stay away from here”

We moved to this hotel because ours closed down to be refurbish, as you arrive the gate man will not let your taxi in until he has been shouted at then when you get to the reception it looks good the reception staff are good although now nothing about getting on the internet we chose our own room over looking the front of the building because it got the sun all afternoon. The first night in the restaurant was bad the food was cold and made you feel sick there was cat's in the dinning room begging at the tables. The room maid was lazy and spent only 5 min in the room the floor was never washed when we were there we were due to stay here for 8 weeks but due to the unrest the FO advised us to get out so in a way it was a blessing in disclose. When we were driving to the airport we were stopped by 5 soldiers with machine gun who searched us and the taxi and made us feel very scared. Tunisians is a great country with great people so I hope that it all gets sorted out soon

“exellent hotel and location”

Stayed 01-15 October. Weather, apart from one day was excellent. but very cramped seating (why don't charter airline realise that the flight needs to be comfortable?). Don't book airport transfers; take a taxi from airport, less than 10 minutes. We had checked in, very good reception staff, and were on the way to our room, having visited the bar, before the transfer bus had arrived! Rooms are adequate, with a toilet separate from the bathroom, which was a good touch. TV channels are catered for mainly Central Europeans, with tow English channels, but they are going to add some soon apparently. There are 3 restaurants (main buffet, 12 hour snack bar, and a fixed menu a la carte) included in the all inclusive. The main buffet restaurant served surprisingly good food for an all inclusive, the best I have come across, with numerous choices daily and always a Tunisian speciality or two to try. It was my birthday whilst we were staying, and we booked the prima restaurant a la carte. The food in this restaurant I didn't think was as good as the main buffet, but they did present me with a birthday cake! The rep and my son requested this and the hotel were happy to provide it. The bar service was very good, local spirits and lager perfectly good, and cocktails always available. The location is a bit far from Monastir, 15-20 minutes in taxi, but only 08 dinars. The town is the same as many North African countries, with aggressive shopkeepers trying to pull you into their shops, but you should expect that. A previous reviewer said that the hotel doesn't cater for the English yet, apart from the TV stations I cannot understand why he said this, the food was good as were the bars, and especially the staff. Overall for a weeks break this hotel exceeded my expectations, and would get 5 stars if they upgraded the rooms a little.

“WORST HOTEL IN TUNISIA - STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2010

We have been to Tunisia many many times & this hotel is NOT a 4*. The food was terrible. It was cold and was uncovered so it was swarming with flies. The staff around the pool & beach bar was smoking whilst preparing food. The chef's 'whites' was dirty and had been worn outside so was carrying germs from ouside to the kitchens. We wanted to be moved after the first day and this had been arranged by our Olympic holidays rep but he failed to tell us, until we had checked out that we would have to pay an extra £140 to move. Why when we was moving to another 4* hotel I don't know.
There were days at this hotel when the food was so bad that we didn't eat anything. Needless to say we lost weight onj this holiday, which is a bad thing when the hotel is all inclusive.
The bar kept running out of stock, draft soft drinks etc and the drinks was always flat.
The best thing that can happen to this hotel is to either knock it down and start again or bring in entirely different management and completely change how this hotel is run.

“Watch out for The Russians & The Jellfish !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

Lovely hotel, water slides are a scream !! good daily maid service, everywhere clean.....however. There were 10/1000 english people... Russians, Poles etc were the majority. Food, fresh hot but not necessarily to the english taste... watch out for the jellyfish, very small and impossible to see. one of our party lost 3 days of the holiday being ill due to a sting. Pleasant staff, especially the waiters who reserve your table and decorate it with petals (tip due at the end of your stay) Beach clean but VERY narrow. All in all we had a really good holiday but were restricted to hotel unless taxi/bus ride to nearest town. visiting local markets to shop is a MUST.. haggle away, you'll get some real bargains. Enjoy your trip ... (oh Yes.. there's a golf course opposite hotel)

“Catastrof”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2009

We stayed at the hotel for 12 days and we were disappointed. We had to deal with some kind of complication every single day. The list just of few problems:
- No toilet paper on the room for 4 days
- No clean towels on a regular basis
- We had to change the room 3x, because certain facilities were not functioning
- I saw a cook to pick the food from the floor and put it back on the plate, while he thought no-one is watching
- Hard drinks in a bar were mixed with water (Vodka, Gin etc.)
- Not enough glasses, forks, knives, spoons, plates during dinners and lunches - people had to wait in lines to get a glass
- Arrogant and lazy personal except 3 or 4 people who behaved normally
- At 10 p.m. usually they were not able to serve alcohol, drinks in bars, because they either ran out, or did not have glasses
- Etc. etc.
I strongly recommend not to go to this hotel.
