“We all make mistakes,”

ours was by not taking notice of the bad reviews. As a birthday treat my partner and i booked (all inclusive) a reasonably priced break to this hotel, knowing full well it would be in the quiet season, but to be dumped in the Prima life, sandwiched between two derelict and abandoned wrecked hotels was a shock and disappointment to say the least. With only twelve guests there (only two of which were English,English guests,as we were told,do not usually get placed here) you can imagine just how boring this place was,no entertainment, vile cold disgusting food(curry for breakfast???),the same stale cakes brought out meal after meal, dark dingy bar and if you were very lucky someone was there to serve you, very tired exterior/interior and pool area, run down indoor pool and games room, only two tacky run down shops outside the hotel and one on the complex, constant badgering to have a massage/spa/quad bike/sauna,,,just leave the guests alone, let them decide!!!!.On my birthday the four of us decided to have a meal in the on site "posh" restaurant, wow what a joke, poor service, wrong food served, food missed of the order, corked wine, food on the menu not available and rude staff with no manners,,,,we left and went just up the road to the only other place to eat,the Safari,a pleasant little restaurant next to one of the shops. The rooms have seen better days,,probably in the early 90s!!! all in all a massive let down. Having been to tunisia three times in the past we know how nice the country really is,Prima life lets the whole tunisian experience and country down, what a shame!!,,,,If you are English,no matter how reasonably priced the holiday may seem, please please think twice before booking here...we wish we had.

“Great animation team will not let you bore”

The hotel is really close to the airport of Monastir. You better check your travel agency offer, if they do flights to this airport as the main Tunis city airport is hours away.
Its nicely decorated from outside and very Tunisian inside :-)
Do never allow them to accomodate you in the right wing (considered you stand in the reception facing the receptionist). This is the oddest part of the hotel, dirty, dark, smelly and very noisy (building work on the side) and with a terrible view (to the building works on the side).
We got a room with "the mountain view", and have to say this was maybe a win. I cant imagine, how loud the other side to the sea must be considering the hotel organizes disco every night until late.
Well the room and the service is very Tunis-like. You cant make any close up looks, better pretend you cant see in the bathroom. The tile work is notoriously screwd, but there was no must and it was acceptably clean.
The main restaurant is ok, thou for the "good" meals just as grilled meat, seafood, pancakes you have to queue. We stayed for 10 days, the meals didnt change much and there was a major lack of fruit. But it wasnt as bad, we paid quite a little money for the holiday, so we didnt complain whatsoever. What I really couldnt stand was the behaviour of most of the guests, especially the Russians, whos tables sagged under the weight of loaded food, mostly only tasted and left. The tables after these guys were disgusting. Other major disguss was, that the waiters didnt bother to change the table cloth or tidy up the tables, so if you dont come first for meal, you always get a dirty table :-(
The guys by the bars were friendly, but they could not mix drinks at all. I mean - at all. So if you want to go all inclusive for the variety of alcohol cocktails, you better go half board.

The pools were ok, full of kids thou. This hotel is very oriented on kids, having around 20 members of annimation team. They do the job very well, paying attention to every guest making sure you would not bore. They can tell, if you are interested or not, so if you rather stay under the umbrella soaking up sun, they never force you to join their activities.
A little note about the staff, its mostly men who are desperately trying to win an European wife. So beware, especially if you are travelling with young daughters, cause they do their best to enchant them :-)

The sea was average, not bad, not brilliant.. We could always get two sunbeds with an umbrella, anytime of the day.
In the neigbourhood, by a slow 10 mins walk, there are some touristy shops with souveniers and all this trash. But its all coulours and smiles so its nice to walk around.

The bus stop is just infront of the hotel, its about 20 minutes to get to Monastir town and Sousse town. Its a cheap trip so we went to both towns. Have to say, I was quite scared in the old bazaar, but it was only my own feeling. The known rules apply, you never look in the eye of a marketeer :-)

Well, in and out, if you find a good deal for this hotel, go for it.

Room Tip: Room with the mountain view are quieter

“Best holiday in 2011”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

It was our best holiday in this year. We have 3 children who enjoyed our 2 weeks vacation in this great hotel. We got a big family room what was always clear, the restaurant and foods were delecious, and the pools and the garden was nice, speacially the sea water pools, it was our favourite. Our children enjoyed the great animation program, at daytime in the mini club, in the pool, at the evening on the mini-dsico. Thank you for the best holiday!

Room Tip: just smile!
