Ihave read many reviews on this site before and after i came back from this hotel i will be as honest as i can, on landing at the airport we was told our transfer was now 1.40 hrs as the new airport was now open the roads are very poor but the locals driving skills kept us amused (it is a third world country) on reaching the hotel we was quickly showed a very clean spacious room with sea view and a nice size balcony our maid did a great job all week (well done to her)
the food was not to my taste but was always well presented and i never went hungry!! the dinning hall was clean and spacious, the waiters could be lazy at times but a dinar or two got them moving(remember tipping is expected)
swimming pools beach out side space outstanding
the animation team worked hard but did need improving (but most spoke 5 languages can u )
the only real down side, out side the hotel there is VERY LITTLE to do but if you want a chilled week in the sun you wont go far wrong

My husband, myself and two friends have just returned from El Mansour and can't recognise the last review. Our room No.402 overlooked the pool with views of sea and was wonderful, great view, everything spotless and working fine. yes animation a little basic but this was more than compensated for by enthusiasm and friendliness and everyone was encouraged to join in as much as they wanted. Staff were wonderful contributing to the relaxed atmosphere around the hotel and the range of nationalities staying at the hotel added to the holiday. We had a great stay.

Friendy people, good food.. The downside : the flies over the food by the swimning pool's restaurant, which I found very anti -higienic. the animation team needs to improve a lot, as their so called " showes" were hard to follow...we were expecting something tipically from the Country and instead we had " chinese school" theatre (a disaster) and latino nights.
The room was not very impressive for a 4 star hotel - the shower was awful, just " dropping " and sometimes in the hours that everybody came from the beach, we hardly could wash under it. The fridge in the room didn't work, the toilet was not very well cleaned.
The beach was OK, apart from the very annoying sellers.

As this was our first visit to Tunisia we came away not sure if what we experienced was the norm. Im glad the other two reviews help clarify what we also saw! I think if you visited this hotel at a quieter time it was be a different holiday - for us it was too busy and the food disappointing also out of the hotel the area is shocking with litter and rubble everywhere. Sorry Tunisa we would not come back to Mahida but may try another resort - good points are the staff who were friendly the beach,sea and the sunshine.
