“absolutely fantastic, would definetley go again!”

When i read the reviews before i went to this hotel i was worried sick at the bad reviews it had got. Our holiday was a gift from my boyfriends parents so i didnt have a choice and i was worried about traveling to tunisia alone nevermind having to worry about my hotel being a nightmare!
All i can say is that the people who wrote these bad reviews must have been to another hotel!
i will try to break it down into catagories
FIRST IMPRESSION
from the second i arrived at the nour palace i was taken away by the beauty of the building, it is very well designed and decorated and it was so clean it always smelled of carbolic soap which was lovely =] reception staff were very friendly and helpful concidering we spoke very little of their language and the ungodly hour we arrived

ROOMS
our room was lovely and spaceous with a kingsize bed and a tv. The tv didnt have any english channels so bad luck if you cant speak french/italian/german but then y do you want to go on holiday to watch tv?
our bathroom was big and very clean with all the necessities including a hairdryer but its not very powerful so if you have long hair i would recomend taking your own, the hairdryer also has an inlet for a shaver. balconies arnt very big but big enough for two and a table wonderful view of the pool and the beach =]

FOOD
the food we recieved was very tasty, well cooked, fresh and above all not procesed! even the chips were homemade =] my boyfriend is an extremely fussy eater and even he was very content. for breakfast crepes and ommellets were made fresh infront of you along with other treats, some of which i was not acustomed to but im sure locals or those from other areas of europe found them quite appetizing. lunch and dinner were very similar with a variety of fresh meats, fish, vegetables, pizza, rice, pasta and wonderful deserts. if you do not like the meats in the sauce you could opt for the meat being freshly cooked on the grill.
please remember that this country's standanard of food is different from others and almost all meat has the bones left in and do not expect "food" such as burgers, hot dogs or processed food- this hotel serves real food, not procesed junk.

CLEANLINESS
to me it seemed like the hotel was constanly being cleaned and as i said before smelled of carbolic soap, i dont think there was a day that went by were i never seen the maids cleaning the rooms (you can leave a sign on you door handle if you do not want them to clean the room) i cant say i seen one untidy or unclean area in the hotel even the beach was kept very tidy

STAFF
staff were extremely friendly and helpful and even worked hard to breakthrough language barriers, most staff however already spoke perfect english and other languages but i would advise learning some basic french to be polite as they really do appreciate the effort. please be aware that tunisian custom is to tip your servers, not a great amount 1/2 dinah a time. we always tipped our waiters at meals/reception and the bar and found them to be extremely greatful and couldnt do enough for us =] please do not shout at staff if they do not understand you, they are not deaf! they just dont speak english very well! personaly i think it is extremely ignorant to go to a forgien contry and not have the common courtesy to learn the basic please and thank yous in the local tounge >=[

ENTERTAINMENT
there is an entertainment board at the door leading outside next to the dining area which tells you all the various activities going on throughout the day and night, plenty to do so no problems there and the nightime shows were very amusing =] there is also a kids club to keep little ones entertained and some night a saxaphone player plays a few songs in the bar.

BEACH/POOL
the beach and pool ares were very scienic but if you are going to the beach please beware of street vendors as they can be quite troublesome but most are very polite and leave you alone, there is an attendant from the hotel who helps guests if he sees you being hastled by vendors

OVERALL
we had a fantastic time and i would not take any heed to the bad reviews all you need to have a wonderfull time at this hotel is some common sence, an open mind and courtesy oo and the flys can be a bit troublesome so i would take some insect repellent

i think i have covered everything but if there is anything you would like to ask feel free and i will get back to you asap =] hope you have as much fun as i did! =]

“Dont go if you like your food”

This Hotel needs a radical overhaul on restaurant food and a hygeine inspection. The food was the worst we have had in 40 yrs of travel. It was virtually the same each day, mostly 'catering' for East Europeans.Gravy with a thick layer of grease with some bony meat in it.We did enjoy the boiled eggs, freshly made pizza and doughnuts and omelettes. The salad was ok,nothing labelled so you didn't know which sauce or yoghourt was which. The previous nights offering was put out at the pool bar THE NEXT DAY! We all had holiday tummy, pity the kids who are not so strong.Service at the Bar was 2 tier-those who slipped a dinar got first service. We waited over 10 mins for drinks to come.We were AI, so were made to wait.
The swimming pool was treated every morning-shouldn't it be every evening to disipate the chlorine? Animation staff pestered us constantly to join in.In the end we wrote a sign 'No Excersize' Music blared out constantly, repeated every day by pool. Why do they think we need to be entertained all the time?Beach is lovely.Rooms very clean.Reception staff could be more polite.Never there again!

“Amazing holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

The hotel is phenomenal.

Rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel was very clean, sheets and towels changed when you want (leave a paper on the bed if you want to replace the sheets), and they washed the floor and the bathroom every day. The bathroom has a hairdryer, in room there is a refrigerator and TV. We first get a room on the ground floor so we asked for its replacement, which was not a problem, then we got one on the fourth floor on the outside of the hotel overlooking the sea, from that side it was very quiet.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the main restaurant. There is a part that is lika a classic buffet and a part where they make you food on-site: for example, for breakfast pancakes or an omelette with ingredients to taste, and for lunch and dinner spaghetti, grilled meat and fish, gyros ... And desserts are very tasty, and there is a large selection of fruit and salads for every meal. It has a bar next to the beach where you can take drinks and sandwiches, and another restaurant near the beach where lunch, snack and dinner are served. And two bars in which everything is also included in price. In short, you will not be hungry and every day you can try something new.

Beach is very beautiful, the sea was warm enough, and I was at the end of September. Often the there was wind, and waves, but it wasn't cold. The sea is not deep for very long, so it's never crowded in the water. There were enough loungers for all guests, although I'm not sure there would be in July or August. Every morning they clean the beach, which in some of the neighboring hotels isn't done. In the hotel with a deposit of 20TD you can get two towels for the beach and every day replace them for the clean ones which is very useful.

They have a large pool and plenty of sun loungers around the pool. It also has an indoor swimming pool.

The staff is very friendly. The only problem is that not everyone knows English very well, but you can agree on basic things.

The hotel has a great team of animators, and all day there are a variety of activities: beach volleyball, aerobics, water aerobics, dance classes, soccer... I'd just like to mention Naama, Majdi and Sabri, but they were all really great. Every night they organize a show that lasts 1-2 hours and it is very convenient if you do not want to go to the city at night or you are tired, it is right there and very interesting and fun. They have a disco after the show but it is not visited, one night I went and there were about 20 people inside. There are a lot of people with children, and there is also organized entertainment for kids during the day, but I don't know the details.

All in all, this was the best vacation ever and I will certainly return to this hotel.

“Brillant familyholiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

We stayed in Vincci Nour Hotel for 1 week with 7 adults, 2 children and 1 baby.
We are a very mixed group but everybody seemed to enjoy themselves as we are normally not too picky and used to all kinds of standards.

Overall we liked the service we got from the hotelstaff, although this did cost a few dinar wich is a normal thing in Tunesia. If you try to speak french you will be appreciated even more.

The drinks were good (cold, plenty of booze, good beer, tasty red wine) but it was a shame it was served in plastic cups, especially because they were rinsed out with chlor.
Breakfast and lunch were fine (do not try the 3 minute eggs, rather go for the omelettes!), as well as the sandwhich corner.
We didnt like 'the foods we got for diner though. Although there was plenty of choice the quality of the food was poor.
The beach was splendid: very clean. The sunbeds on the beach weren't too comfy
The fridge in our room was frozen all over and didn't do it's job properly, the curtains, carpets and furniture were a bit shabby, but the room was spacious and very clean.

We rented a car through our rep and drove to Sousse, Kairouan and El Djem: fabulous. My parents did stay for another week and went for a 2-day trip to the south. Tunesia is a lovely country to explore with lots of hidden gems.
Also, Mahdia is worth a visit, go for a nargile at night on the square... The market is okay if you try to avoid the souvenirs, do go after the locals!

Overall we had a brillant holiday!
