Our one-week stay at Odyssee Resort was just perfect, surpassing our expectations in every way! I write this review with gratitude to the staff at Odyssee, and with a rear in my eye...
Odyssee is enchanting - an interesting and beautifully designed hotel complex with gardens and pools, carefully maintained with great facilities. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurant and buffet offered excellent food.
The service was of a very high quality and all the staff were polite, helpful and not only friendly but very sociable - thank you everybody (from the reception, restaurant, bars and the hotel nurse) for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable.
My special praise also goes to the Directeur Artistique Adel Zaghouani for a brilliant entertainment programme full of variety and flavour to suit all. Such dedication to sharing the joy of music is a treasure rarely found - it was a privilege to meet you.

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel in April. The room was clean, large and had plenty of storage space etc. There was a balcony with not much of a view on my side but there was no time to sit out anyway. The hotel is designed with the local ancient architecture in mind and is very interesting with underground corridors and lots of curvaceous spaces. It is seconds from a good clean beach, good pools, plenty of loungers but the best thing about the hotel is the FOOD. The choice was magnificent and of a very high quality considering the number of people from different countries staying at the hotel. I am sure that if I had stayed longer I would have put on a ton of weight. Definitely recommended.

The Odyssey has a lot going for it. Rooms were ready and warmed for us on a cold day after a long drive, and were comfortable and clean. The restaurant was also good in variety, quality and presentaion of food. The hotel is well out of Zarzis, but there are a few local cafes, shops and restaurants within 10 minutes walk and the beach, cleaner than many, is also adjacent to the hotel complex.
All this is fine, so what is not so good? Well, a few things. For a start, in a hotel where the water is labelled as unfit to drink (and it is!), it is poor practice to charge £1 for every bottle of water. Then there is the laundry service which clearly states that laundry sent by 9am will be returned the same day. When it is not, they shrug and say well, sometimes it comes back the same day. But getting some wine to drink enters whole new realms of difficulty and bureaucratic unhelpfulness. The restaurant serves a pleasantly drinkable Gris de Tunisie - you can order a bottle and drink it in the restaurant, or in your room. But you cannot order the same wine in the bar, or even carry the bottle from the restaurant to the adjoining bar, where you must order different wines. All of this is explained and overseen by the redoubtable Mr Boussif, assistant manager, to whom hospitality and customer service are concepts he sees as quite irrelevant to his job.
Come on, Odyssee, get your act together and guests might enjoy their stay and return!

I spent only one night here, as part of a tour group, on Christmas Eve, so my experience is very limited. But I thought the room, the environment and the beach beautiful and would certainly come back. The Christmas Eve dinner was opulent without being great and not worth the supplement but lunch the next day was very high quality, with freshly cooked choices and great variety.
