I had always wanted to go on holiday by myself. Nesrine was not the place to do that. My intention had been to go to Tunisia for the weekend and just spend a couple of days in the sun by the pool. When I arrived at the hotel there was food still available which I was pleased about (until I actually went into the restaurant). As it was very late I was the only one in there and the waiters were sat round a table until one of the came over to me and followed me round the buffet table asking me why I was there, how long for who was I with etc. This became an ongoing interregation with every member of staff I encountered, paired with "why did you come on your own?" and "why only for three days?". The food in the restaurant while I was there was horrible. I have been to a few hotels with bad food reviews and always found it to be fine or quite nice. But this food was not pleasant, very little to choose from. Hot and cold food available but neither of them nice. The bread was nice though- but got a bit boring eating that to fill me up!
This was the first all inclusive I have stayed at that didn't have soft drinks available in a dispenser. This became really inconvenient as it was so hot and the glasses were tiny so I felt bad repeatedly asking for refills. The waiters, entertainment staff and pool guys were all letchy and disgusting, interrupting me reading, listening to music, waking me up when I was sunbathing. Asking me to go for drinks, commenting on my appearance, i opened my eyes once to a pool guy putting a flower in my bikini top. Another of them was inviting me back to his. ( he said a lot more inappropriate things that I practically yelled at him to leave) and he spent the rest of his time avoiding me. The worst thing for me was when I had an early night and was woken up by my phone ringing and it was the receptionist trying to get me to go out to a club with him. One of the female entertainers was asking me to give her my make up and shampoo when I left I said I would meet her at the end of my stay (with no intention of doing so) and she pretty much hunted me down. Waiter at the pool was flirting and put pink in my g+t which made it taste of rasberry, then he put green in the next one (mint) this was really irritating as all my drinks tasted absolutely vile. (despite his "sweet" intentions). Rooms were pretty bad too, beds quite uncomfortable. Bathroom absolutely ridiculous, I had a shower on the first night and the whole bathroom flooded and remained flooded until I left. Also I could hear loud music late in the night, lucky for me i can sleep through a lot. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I found the staff very pushy and overwhelming. This was my first time in Tunisia and I have no desire to go back. And while some people I know did find it odd that I went on holiday by myself I strongly believe that I am entitled to enter a hotel under any circumstances and be treated respectfully and as a guest.
