“French are PIGS”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

Went with my partner and 2 yr old son, its a good job we have good sense of humours as if we didnt laugh we would of cried! I paid for a pool view you could only see a fraction of the pool from our patio! we complained but nothing done, later our room flooded and then we got moved to a very nice room may i add.All the entertainment was in french so my son didnt understand any of it although he did enjoy it, my partner ate most of the food but my son and i i lived on croissants! Someone pinched our designer towels when we complained we did get complimentary towels and any choice beds the fllowing day! There was only 3 english families in whole hotel it was full of igfnorant rude french people who have totally put me off france for life, we did meet a lovely scottish couple with their granddaughter who looked after us nicely if it wasnt for them we probably would have got a flight back home after day 3 or sojething! we made the most of it anyhow and when we came back home they gave me a lovely present i was taken to hospital with viral meningits!! Wouldnt go back however definately would have if it was an english hotel.
Upside- staff were lovely and pirate ship was great!

“tip well and enjoy the whole holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

we stayed here with our best friends for a week. the trip from the airport to the hotel was awful, the coach was a wreck! When we arrived at the hotel after about 2hrs on the coach, we were greeted by the bell boy at reception and taken to have a meal as we were starving (and I`m sure the room wasn`t ready!) When we were finished we were shown to our room. This was clean and tidy and next door to each other, as requested. The food was plentiful, tasty, if you avoided the english food and varied ,every day having a theme (spanish, Italian, Mexican. One night we were all serenaded by a violinist!!!) and the service in the restaurant was brilliant after we tipped Hamed. Our table was saved for us with our napkins folded beautifully, bread, flowers, wine/beer waiting every day. Great! In the cocktail bar we tipped Lahmed and had our drinks served to us at the table, never having to go to the bar and wait to be served and always with a smile and quick chat if he had time (always rushing around but very attentive)
The entertainment in the evening was brilliant and the animation team were very talented and energetic. They worked all day doing aquarobics, volleyball etc, kids club and then evening were a mixture of comedy and cabaret! Excellent!!! Outside in the pool bar area we tipped Tyson the waiter and had the best table saved for us every night and drinks brought to us without even ordering them!!! He was excellent. People who have complained about the staff here have obviously not thought about the level of service you get with a small tip. (between the four of us we gave each waiter £10 at the beginning of the week and were treated like royalty) - much to the disgust of other guests who were less than generous. Avoid any of the tours arranged by ali- total rip offs!!!! Nothing is what he says it is ( camel ride to the edge of the desert with the associated finery turned out to be a ride on a camel/horse/donkey/trap to the nearest dump where they con you into paying extra for everything- even a nylon headdress!!)
The beach was a short walk away but the smell of sewer on the way was less than inviting. At the beach bar you have to pay for your drinks even though its all inclusive. By the way- this doesnt include bacardi, whisky, gin or anything european they dont have it!!! Beware of men selling things - once you`ve looked at anything its yours!! They harass you endlessly and after a while it wears you down. Just go to the fixed price shops if you`re not into the constant "haggling"- much less hassle! You can walk across the beach to Yasmine (or take a taxi for about £3) which is a much more lively place with lots of shops and bars and a beautiful marina. Tunisia is a beautiful country but is let down with its filth! If you want to stay in your hotel for the week & go nowhere go here!

“fantastic hotel & amazing staff cant wait to go back again&again!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

Well just got back from a week in Hammamet Garden, this is now my 6th visit there, and yes i would go back again!
would like to say a big thank to all the staff especially Sonia on reception. I wasn't to sure how this week would go as my mother had an accident the day before we was due to fly out there, they was all so very helpful in ensuring my mother was able to get everywhere she needed & they even carried her up/dpwn stairs themselves. From the moment we arrived to the day we left they all went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our holiday. Every person working in the hotel, the staff & entertainers where fantastic. Activities available throughout the day, there was always something to do. Pools was great & clean. A variety of food was always available & to a good standard, It was nice that they ensured we was happy with our stay & if we had any issues to advise them. The only negative point was that I was only there for 1 week!! would loved to have stayed longer, but there is always next time. Thank you again and see you soon :)

“Brilliant 1st time online booking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

We have just returned from a two week holiday and were very pleased with what we found in Hammamet. Hotel a little tired after what we supposed to be a very busy time during the season. A very special mention to Lamjed the waiter in the Garden bar who made us feel very special and remembered what we drunk and looked after me with genuine care when the dratted sand files got my hand (which blew up like a balloon). Make a bee line for him, also our restaurant waiter Amor who put flowers on our table and brought our drinks. A very special thank you for the chambermaid on the 400 room’s allocation she kept our room very tidy and spotlessly clean. I think they were all very happy to see some British people after a season of Russians, boy they are so rude. I could go on and on about this but I won’t, just put down to ignorance. Be careful of the looky looky men they will try to rip you off as soon as look at you I found the best way to keep them at bay was to say nam faloos (no money in Arabic). Don’t expect too much with the food they are trying to hard to keep so many nationalities happy and there is NO BACON/Ham or PIG which my husband seemed to have forgotten, but there is very happy kitten in Hammamet Yasmin where he thought he was going to get an English breakfast (wrong) ~~ Have a great holiday

“Ok for the price”

We booked this holiday as a last minute all inclusive break, and were not disappointed for what we paid. I would say it is more of a 3 star, rather than a 4 star hotel, however it was very clean, and the staff were friendly despite the language barriers.

Hotel rooms were spacious, cleaned everyday, and beds were often decorated with flowers. The pool area was lovely, although the larger pool was noisy at times, especially due to the constant whistle blowing from the animation team! however the smaller pool was much more peaceful. The beach is lovely and is only a short stroll away.

The food was OK, and unless your really fussy you should find something you will enjoy, however if we stayed longer than a week it would have got a little repetitive. For a small tip the waiters will also put fresh flowers on your table every night, and reserve your table for you.

Overall we had a nice, relaxing holiday for the money we paid.
