“2nd Visit and Not My Last!”

once again, the phenicia has been amazing! i travelled on my own this time stayed for 1 week over my birthday and the staff and animation team have been great! nothing is too much trouble, the food was great, the company was great, the shows are as fantastic as ever and always someone to talk to!
bar staff and reception were funny and friendly and even though i travelled alone i made so many new friends!
and it was nice that i was remembered from my last visit!!!
the room was clean and tidy, the view wasn't brilliant as i looked out into a bush! the bed was a bit hard though.
i can't wait to go back again in May :)
animation team work so hard but it was a shame not more guests would join in with their activities...they were great company and kept me occupied in the afternoons - letting me watch their practise for the evening shows!
yallah yallah!
see you soon!

Room Tip: While it's a bit cold, ask to have extra blankets because it does get chilly in the evening, esp...

“Great, Monday to Friday, Then !!!!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We spent 2 weeks at this hotel in Jan/Feb 2012.
The first few days were wonderful.
We arrived on Wed am flight and were greeted at the hotel with cocktails and the reception staff were very efficient, bags were delivered to our room and we were shown how to operate the safe.
The food was excellent the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and courteous. Kerstin was a godsend when we wanted to upgrade from H/B to A/I after our Rep Mahar had no luck he introduced us to Kerstin, and she knew who to contact and got us a great deal on the upgrade.
The entertainment team was fantastic they took all the activities and every evening a really excellent show was performed on stage.
Then Friday came and the influx of the dirty, smelly, unruly Libyans, Algerians and Tunisians with their uncontrolled children running, screaming and generally misbehaving started, on the first weekend there were approximately 150.
There actions in the restaurant were even worse, we have never seen such wanton waste in our lives, each table of these ?'s, I don't know what to call them because I cannot think of anything that acts is such a manner and it would be unjust to any animal to call them animals.
Suffice it to say they are indescribable in their actions and their manners,
They gathered enormous amounts of food onto their tables and destroyed it and left it.
These ?'s ruined our stay at what was a great hotel.
This experience has certainly made us consider never going to Tunisia again.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for your review which had our best attention. We are happy you enjoyed the services provided at the SENTIDO Phenicia.
As you certainly noticed we have still a luck of guests in Tunisia – especially European guests….and at least and please, don’t forget - we are in Tunisia! We are sorry you couldn’t see any interesting aspects to experience different nationalities. Tunisia is such a lovely country and here, like everywhere are so nice people….! It would be such a pity to all of us to lose you!
Yours sincerely

“Average hotel, Miserable staff!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Stayed for a week here at the Sentido Phenicia with my boyfriend we're 21 and 22. Just a quick review...
Reception was ok, the staff there were quite polite and friendly, its a shame the same can't be said for the staff in the restaurant.
Corridors to the rooms were very dark, didn't really bother us though.
Food was standard, you get what you pay for! Staff were very miserable unless you tipped them!! Went to the japanese restaurant which was quite nice and would recommend, we also went to the tunisian one, i didn't enjoy that one bit, but i did end up with a stomach bug so my view may be a bit biased!
Went on a boat trip, the catamaran, was very enjoyable, didn't feel safe walking around on our own around the port though. The pirate boats looked like alot of fun, but didn't have enough time to go on one of these.

DO NOT RIDE A CAMEL ON THE BEACH THEY RIP YOU OFF!

The beach was very nice apart from annoying people trying to sell you things. I usually don't enjoy going in the sea but i loved it on this holiday!

The pool areas are very nice too, you'll be lucky to get a bed though if you don't get up at the crack of dawn!

Entertainment was ok, we didn't stick around to watch it most nights as it was more for the children, just tended to stay in the bar area and maybe go for a walk on the beach. The entertainment staff were very friendly and did a good job considering how long they have to work and the hours that they do!

As i said i had a stomach bug after the second day of being there so that kind of ruined it a little for me, i definately wouldn't go back, my boyfriend seemed to enjoy it though!

Dear Guests,
Thank you for writing your comment on tripadvisor, even weeks after your stay at the SENTIDO Phenicia. We apologize for any inconvenience during your holiday in August last year.
Hygienic conditions are controlled daily in the SENTIDO Phenicia - may be you are interested to know that your resort is certified HACCP ? That we are employing two permanent hygienists?
We feel sorry if you made a bad experience with the staff in the restaurant, unfortunately - our Headwaiter Mr.Toumi is always very helpfull - did you speak with him or our Holiday Concierge? Generally - following written guests' comments- nothing is too much for our staff ...in order to provide you relaxing holidays......
Kind regards - wishing you will give us another opportunity

“New Year Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Booked a very last minute trip for just after the New Year. Interesting to fly to the new airport with a shorter journey to the hotel.
Chose this hotel due to location as have been to Hammamet before.
Rooms were warm, clean and comfortable with fruit basket and bottled water in fridge on arrival, very welcome if you arrive late in the evening!
Breakfast buffet suited most tastes, restaurant at dinner had a good choice and the Tunisian specialities were excellent.
The daily activities subject to weather permitting were varied, and plenty of walking, shopping and relaxing on the balcony in the winter sun.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view. If you arrive late and miss first night dinner, reception will ar...
