“Really good 3*...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We spent a week at this hotel in Jan. We enjoyed it that much we returned for another week.

The Dar Khayam is a 3* hotel that delivers much more...

Hotel in general. Very clean, well lit and plenty of seating areas. Lifts that work & very clean WC's. Limited smoking area within the hotel.
Games room,
Spa facilities ( payment required )
Wireless Internet in reception area. Very expensive, 5 Dinar-15 min, 8 Dinar-30min, 15 Dinar for one hour.
Safes, by reception, 3 Dinar a day

Shop, Hair dresser & Bank on site.

Staff are brilliant, allways ready to please & most speak a little English. The Animation team are allways trying to get people involved in the activities, Shows are "Corny" but good fun.

Rooms, Nice size for 2/3 people, plenty of hot water & kept really clean by the girls. Walls a bit on the thin side, so sound travels.

Restaurants & Food. You will be allocated a table for the length of your stay. Great idea..Waiters soon get to know what you like and are keen to look after you.

Food was allways edible, a bit repetative but for a 3* it was really impressive. Kids selection with Icecream avaliable most days.

Snacks avaliable afternoons & Late evenings so you'll never go hungry.

Bar (only one open in the winter) Staff soon get to know what you drink. The beer is OK ish. lol . But the Spirits, well I've tasted better :-). But the Vodka was drinkable.. Soft drinks and Juices were very good.

Pools. The outdoor pool was really, really cold. But the indoor pool was great, nice & warm. Poolside bar closed in winter. You have to pay for cushions for the sunbeds, 2 dinar a day.

Beach. In the Summer I imagine it would be reall busy, nice size with a bar close by (closed in winter ).

Location. Ideal for both Hammamet & Nabeul ( our fav ). With the Bus stop & Local Rail Station very close by.

Taxis allways by the gate ( Ask for Ali, his english is good ) with local shops & restaurants just outside

All in all a very good 3*. One that we will return to.

Thankyou Dar Khayam

Sparky

“ideal cheap deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Got back Feb 1 after 10 chilly days (IT IS THERE WINTER) overall a very pleasant stay.Ideal for a cheap winter break.I always check trip advisor before i book a holiday or break only as a guideline.I almost totally agree with LATINOSTEVE (check his review) He just about sums it up. One tip with the harassment in the shops say hello no eye contact and keep walking they can be very intimmidating.

Room Tip: Hotel two thirds empty had room 1041 my priority is clean room and sleep i got both.

“Tunisian let down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We recently spent 10 days in this hotel and weren't sorry when the holiday ended! The room was basic and although the maid came in every day to make the beds I don't think she knew what a duster was as the dust collected day by day. There were bunk beds also in the room which took up a lot of space which could have been better utilised by a pair of chairs and a coffee table. The food was repetitive and the only fruit available were apples and oranges. The entertainment was practically non-existent. The only good thing about staying here was the lovely indoor heated pool and the pleasant staff.

“Good value for money!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Just come back today, Had a realy great time! Get alot for your money, hotel is basic but still nice, food is plain but again for the money its not bad at all! Deffinatly recomend this hotel for people who just want a quite break, think a week is long enough, beach is beautiful! Staff are realy friendly! One thing i can advise when you arrive at the airport there are porters waiting to take your bags to the coach and they want tipping. They arent very nice about it. So you have been warned. People want tipping for everything! We did the sahra dessert trip, was great! Very tiring but deffintaly worth it! Also at the hotel the beer isnt great, so id advise when you get off your plane go to the duty free and buy a bottle of spirit there to drink in the hotel, wish we had. Hope u enjoy!

Room Tip: If you can try and get a room on the top floor and close to the beach!
