Just returned from 2 weeks at the Chich Khan and we both really enjoyed it, it is very quiet at the moment so we had a relaxing time getting a tan and chilling out, had one day of rain in the 2 weeks, the hotel was clean and the room was lovely with a walk out balcony that had the sun all day long, if you like to have alone time then rooms 1318 to 1338 are by far the best for catching day long sunshine, the staff were amazing and friendly, very attentive and they always have a smile and a chat, the bar staff and bar waiters never forget your drink and a big shout out to Naseem who was just brilliant in the main bar, the maids are really good and the room was spotless at all times, a small tip at the start of your holiday and then at the end and you will get superb service, although we met people who never tip and they still got great treatment by all the staff....Beds were comfy and sheets changed daily if required, towels also changed every day, now we go onto the food, some reviews on here have criticised the food and the choices, I have no idea why anyone would complain about the food, quite simply it was lovely...Loads of choices with at least 5 different meat choices, fish, various veg options, burgers , pizzas, salads, soups, fruits, cous cous, we had Chicken Beef, Turkey, Rabbit, Liver, Quail, Lamb chops, various stews and seafood, steaks cooked as you watch, the salads were superb, always served are pears, apples, oranges, dates, pomegranates, pineapples, bananas were mainly used for desserts which were lovely...Quiches and Omlettes, breakfast was toast or Cerials, eggs of all kinds, sausages, flat breads, fresh Omlette, continental style if you want it, cheeses meats and cakes, fresh juices, I had blood orange which was gorgeous....Special message for Hanen in the restaurant who is the only female waiter I have seen in a hotel in Tunisia, She was lovely and always cheery, Outside the hotel you are very close to the new Medina, there are fixed price shops both to the right and left of the main entrance but they are more expensive than if you haggle, if you go left up to the supermarket called Bravo and the first fixed price shop on the right past the supermarket you will find a fixed price shop who's prices are very good...The locals will try to get you into their shops but they are not aggressive at all and a simple no thanks and a smile will do......Now to the only downside, and that was the hotels beach area, it is very neglected at the moment and needs some time and money spending on it, the sand is fine and white and the sea is clear and lovely to splash around in...There are various activities in the hotel swimming pools inside and out, a spa, mini golf, archery, boules, darts, mini disco for the kids, different shows...The Animation staff are hard working and enthusiastic, a little to enthusiastic when trying to sell you bingo or raffle tickets though...The current exchange rate is 2.2 Dinars to the pound, all in all it was a great 2 weeks and I would go back tomorrow........Enjoy.
Room Tip: 2nd floor even numbered rooms have walk out balconies that have full sun all day....
