We stayed at from 5th - 12th Feb 2012. Weather was't great, but that's not th hotels fault. We went to breakfast at 06.30 when it was due to start, the whole of the hotel was in darkness, only person about was the guy buffing the still dirty floors in the restaurant - we went to go into the bar area, only a exit light on in the whole of the reception/bar area eerie! We went back to the restaurant at 06.45, grabbed a cup of tea, it was cold, no food out apart from the half eaten food from the night before. The food overall, when available, was well (over) cooked and very repeatative. There was no entertainment whatsoever, it is not set up as a winter resort - the whole hotel was cold, apart from your room. The hotel was only a 3rd full and they put most of the customers facing towards the brick roof of it's hotel instead of giving you rooms with the sea view. Yasmin, itself was like a ghost town - only a very few shops and restaurants open. This is the second time to Yasmin, it was better set up in the summer season, but that was before the revolution!

I went to the iberostar averroes 29th of January and didn't really know what to expect and was pleasantly supprised. The hotel is great , the staff are very friendly and all round service is brilliant. I wouldn't advise to visit the resort in January as it is somewhat out of season however during the summer it would be a different story. The drinks in the hotel are brilliant , the food is good , even if your a bit picky you cab always find something to eat. All round it's a fantastic place

Tunisia may be experiencing difficult times but if you stay at this hotel and the Yasmine area you will never have a chance to feel that. With its warm and welcoming staff , ambience and especially its Manager who does every effort to ensure each customer is satisfied and smiling, you should feel safe and at home. This is my feeling every time I visit Averroes.And I do come back. I have visited and compared other hotels here and I must admit , Averroes is like no other if you expect cleanliness, security,spacious beach & rooms and good service as well as a multi-national group of visitors who respect the peaceful atmosphere of this place.

i travelled there jan 29th to the 5th of feb although not very busy we had a great time in the hotel. the hotel was very clean reception bedrooms,bathrooms,bar area and gardens. Hotel staff were very friendly esp in the bar give them a small tip and they will wait on you and foot night time entertainment wasnst up to much but it was ok. But overall a fantastic holiday defiantly go back considering going back to the same hotel in the summer. Cant understand why its still got a security alert as we had no problems around Yasmine hammermet and hammermet its self

“More bad points than good!”

Although bedrooms were clean with plenty of space, ours smelt of smoke and pillows smelt stale and sweaty. Towels ragged. Hotel in general very 'tired looking', needs refubishment. Communal areas dirty, not hoovered, still had Christmas tinsel around, Windows not cleaned, green mould round windows in indoor pool room. Several decorative pots around the place broken, garden areas unkempt. Birds living in dining room, eating off tables, music in only available room to sit in much too loud. Despite my complaints did not turn it down for more than a few minutes. Did not meet 'all inclusive' status as no afternoon ot late evening cakes or sandwiches laid out as promised. I should steer clear of this hotel!!! (Other hotels in same chain we visited in Hammamet seemed to be of a much better standard).

Room Tip: Choose an odd number. - as faces the sea
