“A good holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

Well to start with - we originally booked into Carrabean world but it was closed. We were moved into the Yasmine Beach Resort - which yes It was more posh than the other one but it did not have any waterslides.

Staff:
The receptionists and Bar staff were very friendly and were always happy to help. The animation team were friendly and great for kids. But beware of the henna man - he likes to push people into the swimming pool - he got my phone wet.... luckily it survived

Food and Drink:
The food was suprisingly tasty - plenty to meat eaters and vegetarians. The menu varied from cold snacks (salads) to Tunisian specials. The bar opened from 9am and closed at midnight. I would defiantly recommend going all inclusive as you may want quite a few drinks.

Activites:
Throughout the day the animation team put on darts and water sports which everyone could take part in. There was a kids club which according to my 8 year old sister was excellent.

Evenings:
Every evening entertainment was put on. This varied from dance to music to karaoke to bingo and also audience activities.

Rooms:
The rooms were clean and functional with a TV that had some English news channels - most of the channels were in french. The showe didn't work at first but when we complained we got it sorted out very quickly.

Beach and Pools:
There were 3 pools: 2 outiside and 1 indoor. The indoor one was very hot but the outside ones were freezing. The beach was a 5 minuite walk across the road and to be fair it wasnt that great - A rip off for the watersports and it was very dirty. You are better off buying souverneirs from the onsite shop (which is excellend and with a free cash point). If you buy stuff from the beach sellers they rip you off. A firm NO should do the job.

Excursions:
Pirate trip - excellent
Horse and carraige - good
Quad biking - brilliant

Tipping:
Make sure you tip the cleaner at the end of the week as she does work hard. The people who bring up your bags should be tipped £1 and he will help you for the rest of the week.

Overall a brilliant holiday - YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD time

Room Tip: Get a suite like we did (sweet talk the receptionists) ;)

“Food Poisoning and Bad Service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

The rooms were a decent size and their outdoor pools were fun. The rest of the features and service at this hotel left much to be desired. It started with poor overall service. We had to change rooms because they'd put me and another single friend in a room with only 1 bed. When we changed there were two beds, but only 2" from each other and there was no way to seperate them. Our patio door led straight out to the terrace and pool area, but our patio door could not be locked. This meant we ended up keeping our valuables in a friend's room. When we complained, they were VERY slow in doing anything about it. Further, in regard to the service, we asked for extra towels twice and never did get them. There were no pool towels available and of course the ones from the room were discouraged on deck, so guests were basically expected to bring their own.
The food was terrible. Really! While there was decent variety in a meal, the taste was just so bad -- everything tasted greasy. They also didn't offer variety from day to day. It was basically the same foods re-warmed. The line up for the fresh food at breakfast was very long, and once I saw how they cooked the eggs, I left the line -- would you like some egg with that stick of butter. Finally, something was cooked wrong on that last day -- myself and several others from my party got very sick with something that resembled food poisoning. (no doctor diagnosis, but horribley sick)

Room Tip: Ask to get one on the 4th or 5th floor. 3rd floor and lower aren't secure.

“Not the best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Just home after a week spent in this hotel, The rooms were a good size & the wonderful maid service kept them very clean. Great location for the marina, medina, shops & resturants. The down side was the food which was awful, so bad that even the staff tipped us off as to what avoid eating. Most of our party went down with the dreaded 'Squits' as did a lot of other folk staying here. Drinks very watered down & entertainment amaturish. Nice pools & private beach (you get hounded every 10 mins by guys peddling their wares which drives you nuts after a while)
Hotel full of Russians & eastern europeans who never cracked a smile & piled plate after plate with food then left most of it. Iv never seen greed like it anywhere! A kind of 'I have paid for it so Im taking it' attitude.
The animation team worked very hard to look after people & be friendly while fending off the attentions of lonely women!
All in all not the best hotel I have stayed in but not the worst either.
