The hotel is just about OK. We stayed for two nights as part of a tour and would not have chosen this place if we had booked independantly. Its not very expensive and you really get what you pay for.
Large dinning room with lots of choice from a several self service tables including hot and cold food. Not wonderful but again OK. Waiters were always playing 'catch up' but it is self service and they only really cleared away used plates, set tables and fetched drinks, service improved with a tip. Breakfast and dinner was representitive of all middle of the road (3 star) tourist hotels.
The Pool area looked good, the pool itself was large and looked relatively well cared for.
Our double room was located a long a largely unlit corridor and although it had a balcony this was very small and looked out into an inner and neglected and over grown court yard. This was not a balcony to sit and drink a toast to the setting sun! The room itself despite our request for non smoking had been used previously by what seemed to be a sucession of heavy smokers who had left burn marks on most of the furniture. The carpet was old and worn, the twin beds very low and nothing really looked or felt clean. The patio door would not lock, the safe would not work although the TV did and allowed us to watch BBC World News. The bathroom as you would expect had also seen better days although it was failry clean, had toiletries, a good supply of hot water and a working hair dryer.
Although the public areas were OK the room had an air of neglect and without doubt would be unsuitable for anyone planning to stay for more that one or two nights. Rooms that overlooked the pool area although not any better materially at least had a pleasant view. The room was quiet as there was an internal door separating the sleeping area from the bathroom/wardrobe area which is a thougthful touch so you dont hear noisey folks returning to their rooms late at night.
I would add however that considering what Tunisia has recently gone through and the loss of a significant number of tourists and business visitors the hotel appears to be still functioning. It desperately needs a refurnbishment.
The hotel is located someway out side of Tunis and within a tourist/ beach area which does not really appeal.
