“it is a very good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

it is a very good hotel and we loved our stay there. we didnt like the location of the room but they were more then happy to change it for us, which was really great. we did book a seaview but got pool view which was not bad. the indoor pool is awesome. my husband and i were on our honeymoon and exended our stay by another night as we loved the hotel so much. excellent room service , very fast and efficient

the smell from the restaurant when u come out of the lift, it was awful. we had to keep asking for milk. they can easily have long life milk for the tea/coffee making facilities. but the room service was kind enough to keep bringing it. need a wider range of room service menu.we got charged for a bottle of water we never used from the mini bar :( dinner prices are disgustingly high.

“Average stay.”

I usually stay here once a year for business and this year was surprisingly quiet. I never do the all-inclusive package when I stay so I can't vouch for that. The pro's, for the most part the staff is friendly, they may not be the most accommodating at times, but if you speak french that will help you even more. The con's, location, you will have to take a cab to venture anywhere outside of the hotel, unfortunately it's not really conveniently located near anything, it is about a 10-15 min ride to Sidi bou Said, about 30 mins to Tunis. Ensure you request an english speaking cab driver if you don't speak a bit of French. Unfortunately during the down season, the only restaurants usually available is the international buffet and ala carte via the bar. The food is decent, but definitely on the pricey size for what you are paying for. I would recommend trying to find a good restaurant in town. But Breakfast is very good in the mornings with alot of variety to choose from. The rooms were clean, but are looking tired, hopefully a renovation is planned in the future. Other than that, it's a good hotel in quiet location, it doesn't go over the top in service and amenities, but regardless it's still a good option especially for business.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool area

“sadly quiet”

The hotel was almost spookily quiet.. Most guests were on conferences and two football teams (thankfully quiet!) stayed in the fortnight we were there. There were a few other guests, including Saga.
Our room and bathroom were good sized and there was a separate loo. Beds were comfortable and dressing gowns and slippers were provided. There was a balcony with furniture.
The outside pool area was attractive, with plenty of sunbeds. Towels and mattresses were brought quickly.
There was an attractive indoor pool and spa and a good sized gym.
The bar was large, but a bit soulless. The drinks for non-inclusive guests were very limited and prices of the others were surprisingly dear.
The restaurant was very big, with plenty of food. At breakfast there were two chefs who cooked omelettes and crepes to order. The pastries were excellent, but the juices were more like over-sweetened squash; horrid. After complaints, we had a few days of cheap-tasting orange juice, which was a little better.
There was a good choice of hot and cold food at lunch and dinner, of average quality, except for the excellent soups and desserts. There was a chef cooking the day's specialities at lunch and dinner.
There was a kids' club, but no kids while we were there. However, it did have a table tennis table, used daily by us!
The staff were friendly and helpful, though one or two of the senior managers needed to go to charm school!

The long sandy beach was unfortunately very dirty; I have never seen so much broken glass, plastic and other debris. Maybe in the summer the place in front of the hotel was cleaned up, but you wouldn't want children to play anywhere on it at present.

Room Tip: Ask for a poolside room.

“Average to good”

Stayed here for just one night on our way to the UK from Libya. We found it to be very quiet, not many people staying there. We had a taxi to the hotel, on the meter but when we arrived at the hotel, he said we had to pay extra for the luggage, as we were traveling pretty light, my husband refused, the porter came out to try to sort it out, I felt a bit sorry for him as he didn't know what to say and was a bit embarrassed. We had dinner which was good, nice selection, but a bit pricey but we were a bit desperate n couldn't be bothered to go out searching for food and paying for taxis. The rooms were ok, better than expected, although there was a slight smell, hotels now don't seem to smell fresh, don't know what they use to clean but could do with
a drop of bleach in the bathrooms. Slept well, but that was probably due to the travelling.
Didnt stay long enough to use the pool area, internet was fine, most staff were good, the
restaurant had a couple of lazy ones, I asked one waiter for some fresh lemon and he said,
without looking that there wasn't any, I then asked who I thought was the restaurant manager, and he got me some at once, there seems to be a can't be bothered attitude amongst most the staff in the restaurant, and not many of them smile. I would go back to this hotel as I have had far worse in Tunisia.

Beautiful views of the ocean, nice beach to run on and an excellent pool. I did not dine on site but the in room pistachios and dates were great. EXCELLENT SERVICE BY HOTEL STAFF. Comfortable room. Not much within walking distance from the hotel. No complaints.

Room Tip: Ask for top floor, ocean view.
