“AMAZING!!”

Never been to Djerba before, wasnt too sure what to expect. ON the coach to the hotel, i seen alot of bulding being done and wondered what i had got myself into but as soon as we arrived we had an amazing time! As soon as we arrived at the hotel,we were greeted with a bottle of water and were told to dump our bags in the lobby, and go to the restuarant for food, wasnt much food left, but it was ok as i had scoffed my face on the plane. A member of staff carried our bags to our room, didnt even ask for a tip, although he did take us the wrong way bless him. absoloutely beautiful resort, staff were lovely sad to see us leave! everybody was very polite, made you feel welcome! the room was spacious, spotless, maintained well- couldnt have asked for a better room. Our balcony was facing onto the road, still a mice view, was nice to see how they travel. Swimming pool was lush, temperature in july 2011 was about 40, so was nice to cool down in the clean pool. definately a family friendly, couple friendly and individual friendly hotel, definately reccomend it. Their was always alot of food choice, either outside at the bar or in the restuarant, food was lovely, i miss it haha. When running lowon food, they were their straight away to top the buffet up, always hot food, never let it get cold. bar staff, reception staff,on floor staff, all brilliant, all got a great senseof humour and speak english well. Alot of french at the resort whom some were a little arrogant, i didnt care though cos i still had a great time! Different entertainment on each night. Que for the bar tended to get long, so be quick with your drinks. The pool party was brill, everybody had a great time. Their are cats walking around, which wont hurt a fly, dont know why people complain about them as its tunisia for christ sake. the beach was a 10min walk or get the hotel train if your feeling lazy. it had, white hot sand, as i imagined. the sea isnt as clear as the brouchure says, but it was still beautiful. Jet ski-ing was imense! went to the lagoon for an hour, took plenty ofphotos, although i was abit gutted that ididnt get to seea dolphin, as the waves were ruff. We didnt get hassled at all! This holiday is sooworth the value, i came back with a brill tan, AMAZING memories andsome great gifts. GO FOR IT,you wont be let down :))

“Worth going....”

Hey me and my mum went to djerba for 2 weeks in august the flight wasnt very long wich was good as i moan alot LOL=) .When we arrived at the hotel we were told to go straight to the resturant and eat then go and check in and get your room the only prob was there was not much food left + they were packing away so there was hardly any choice.
when we were given our room we had no idea were we were going untill what we didnt no at the time was 1 of the animation team guys helped us find our room.
Prob 1) crap view it was like day of the triffords we had trees, plants on are blanconly 2) blanconly door didnt lock 3) front door didnt lock.
we had to spend the night there with our suitcases against the doors because they wudnt move us due to the maintance man saying it was fine.
wen we moved we got a much better room like the one in the broucher the only downside was all the cats.
The block we were put in was much better and full of english and some french, i found it easy to make friends as we all sat togethere and were i the same block.
the cleaners were fantistic, and the staff were amazing there were 2 life guards but 1 of them was also part of the animation team whom were all briliant they did a pool party every thursday which was fab.
in the resturant u went and got everything urself food and drink which was better than having someone bring it u belive me. there was enough food to cater every1 fussy or not.
there was a little hut type thing there were u cud get burgers and other stufff buit i wundt leave ur food unattended its not ppl or waiters u shud woory about its the cats as they will jump up and nick ya food my friend james had to get a new plate of food as the cats had gone for it .my advice go there but check othere reviews not just mine .

Room Tip: dont have a kids pool view try and get a main pool view.

“Winter Break”

The hotel was very clean, although the towels both for the rooms and the pool had seen better days. The swimming pool was awesome and never to crowded. The restaurant offered a good selection of food which was always replenished when running low. The staff were all very attentive and as long as you are polite even if you cannot speak French treat you well. DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY REPORTS THAT ONLY FRENCH PEOPLE ARE WELL LOOKED AFTER.

“Who knew they'd do a good sunday roast?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

Okay people lets remember we're talking about north africa here, this means cars don't have MOT's, the locals don't have the latest Iphone and when you get your head round this you realise the hotel is really good!

We were literally the first group in to the hotel and the problem we had was resolved quickly.

Room:
We arrived at 2am on our first night and were greeted with a bottle of water, a nice touch I thought. The reception couldn't seem to find us to start with but alocated a room anyway. The room was a dump looking out over the street with a broken bed despite us being promised a double with a pool view.

A quick word with reception and the we had a pool view on the ground floor, the room was basic but everything worked and the room was clean. The safe was activated by reception without much fuss unlike other people on here.

Staff:
The hotel was generally good but more welcoming to the French due to it being the native tongue of most tunisians (more so than arabic) entertainment was very basic but acceptable, we took cards and relaxed playing a few games with people we met along the way.

Beach:
The hotel is in a good location 10 mins walk from its own private beach, with a train that runs to the beach every half an hour (great if you're feeling lazy or the sun is blazing) the beach is kept clean and tidy with a security guard on duty to stop you being hassled. Although no alcohol is allowed on the beach, a free unlimited soft drink machine is provided.

Food:
A huge selection, but I'll give a basic rundown here.

You get a basic continental breakfast, Cereal, pastries, omlette, toast and jam but as with most places in this part of the world it's mostly salad and cerial rather than egg and bacon.

Dinner was varied from day to day, although I agree with other reviewers that food hygene could be better (I used to be a chef and didn't eat the chicken) the meat under the heat lamps is usually okay, and even the fresh cooked stuff wasn't bad (apart from that damn chicken).

On another note, they made a Sunday roast for... you guessed it.. Sunday! The meat was nice, the mash was buttery and all in all it was one of the nicer Sunday roasts I've ever eaten!

Bars:
The better pool bar is the one up the stairs by the entertainment rather than the smaller poolside effort. Although if you're savvy you realise that the bar inside is open along with the restaurant bar next to the entertainment stand (Yes thats right people self service beer is to be had for those who bothered to look around!)

As with most of my reviews on here, I think people need to remember they're no longer in the UK. If you're willing to try new things, speak a few words of their own language and generally take it for what it is then you'll enjoy every minute.

Camel and horse riding on a morning along the beach, beautiful hotel and pool to die for, great weather in October what more can you ask for. Lots of choice for food and bars. Staff pleasant and well mannered - if you are. Ideal for children. Will def go back beforeDjerba is taken over by lots of tourists which won't be long.
