Coming from Loei by car, I called Frank, the owner of Bamboo Garden, for help on the itinerary. It surely saved me quite a lot of time as the place is not easy to find, at night especially. Non Song village is a few kilometers outside Ubon on the way to Bangkok, the guest-house being located on a small alley on the left hand side of the split road. I confess I was a bit concern about where to find a decent place to dine in the surrondings but that was before Frank and his wife greeted me in. Sometimes you know right away that you’re in good hands. The garden is well trimmed, the pool clean, the rooms –and the kitchen- absolutely spotless (one of the 2 bungalows in the garden was still available but I went for a large room in the main house), and let me say that it was already more than I expected for that price ! What’s more, the quickly prepared diner was simply excellent (great show from the kitties playing on the arch over the pool). I enjoyed also very much chatting with my host. Frank you’re a gentleman (and what a life !). I must add that the neighbourhood is remarkably quiet, no late karaoke, no early temple. I left the place after a nice breakfast, happy and relax, sure to come back one day.

The hotel is clean and simple with very nice, helpful and attentive owners, beautiful clean pool, and beautiful small garden. A relaxing place and I recommend it to anyone who likes a nice quiet oasis.
