I always try to review balancing what you get for your money compared to alternatives.
I have booked this stay via the hotel’s web site. I understand from other hotel guests that it is much cheaper to go for special promotions through tour operators. I also expect that those guests will be more pleased with the hotel as they have paid less...
Pro
- Hotel located right at the beach with a private very nice beach
- Free fresh fruit in the afternoon at the pool (although not every day that extensive)
Con
- Outside pool in need of refurbishing
- Reception staff not very efficient, not client centric
- No concierge. Very limited excursion offer
- Walking to the local town is very dangerous at night due to the traffic and missing foot path.
- You are a bit stuck due to remoteness and therefore forced to eat at hotel at high prices for average quality. E.g. beer is always hot, you get potatoes if you ask rice, they never ask how you want your meat cooked, etc...
- Very basic accommodation. Rooms are dark and in URGENT need of refurbishing. Doors do not shut fully, shower door got stuck several times, very limited amenities, sheets never replaced during 5 days stay, if you ask an additional towel they tell you that they have no extra, etc...
- Minimal lighting in room. If you want to read a book you have to do that in the bathroom.
- Balcony is pitch dark in the evening, minimal lighting, cannot really use it
- Shower is a real problem. It had very low pressure, temperature changes constantly from hot to cold, to summarize it was a nightmare. Reported several times to reception but nothing changed
- Outdoor shower is really inside as it was covered with a plastic roof. What a joke...
- Most rooms have only limited sea views because of trees in front
- Pipe (possibly partly sewage) terminates in the middle of the beach, in view of all restaurant guests. Workers tried to camouflage the pipe but did not complete nor succeed
- Very bad English of hotel staff. They always nod but they have no clue of what you are talking about
- A lot of stairs
- One day during breakfast outside a very strong chemical smell appeared. Guests incl. staff got tears in their eyes. Guests ran away to a different area. Awefull experience. We did not even get an apology from the hotel.
- Not enough sun beds on beach. Result guests reserve their beds in the morning before breakfast like in a cheap hotel
- Cocktails served on the beach are bad. Only ice, very small and taste not good.
- You have to book taxis through reception and they are expensive (for Thailand)
- They is a building site next door making noise until late in the evening
There must be better places in Phuket, I'm sure.
I would not recommend this hotel and will not return.
Room Tip: They all look very dated.
