“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

We initially planned to stay 8 nights but checked out after 1. The room smelled of damp & was a twin, not king as confirmed. We also had a confirmed pick up which the hotel denied. The second room was better but there were holes in the sheet. The tap water was rusty and not suitable for drinking. The hotel charged for bottled water. The bathroom drains were blocked so I flooded the bathroom with a shower.

This place was really good it was like Phuket's version off Port Douglas .Jim in the office was a great help and very informative nothing was ever a problem .The rooms were well looked after and very clean every thing that you needed was supplied down to a bug zapper for outside .It was a 500baht drive in a taxi to Patong beach so if you want to be in the middle of things you will find it to far out but otherwise a very relaxing place to stay

“Mediocre resort in inconvenient location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2010

My four night stay at the Boat Lagoon Resort was underwhelming at best.

Location: Unless you're in Phuket to buy, sell, or anchor your yacht, be warned that there is little to do for non-locals in the vicinity of this resort. It's a good 30 minute, $1200 baht taxi ride just to Patong Beach. There are a few open air restaurants within walking distance, but they mostly cater to locals. Overall, the eastern side of the island where the resort is located seems to lack good beaches and night life.

Rooms: The room we stayed in was fairly large, with dark wood trim, two twin beds, and a nice patio with table and lawnchairs. The main downside was that the rooms were extremely noisy. You can hear every toilet flush from adjacent rooms. Every time our somebody turned on their shower for the first few seconds there'd be a sound much like metal pipes scraping on concrete. In the evenings you're treated to neighbors' conversations and come morning the dragging of furniture by housecleaning. If you're so lucky to have a room across the street from the repair yard like we did, you'll get to wake up to all manners of hammering and banging and worker conversation.

The resort provides just a few toiletries - a meager roll of toilet paper, shampoo dispenser, a few rough towels, no toothbrushes - so we had to get our own at the nearby convenience store.

Food: The included Chinese-Thai style breakfast was quite good with a number of options, but the menu didn't change at all during our stay. The in-house restaurant is also affordable and serves up delicious seafood and local Thai dishes.

Amenities: The resort has a large free-form pool with a pool-side bar. It's great for kids, because it's between 2 to 5 feet deep at most points. There's also a few lounge chairs nearby and a hut to rent towels from but that's about it.

Overall, I'd only recommend this resort if you either have business at the marina or can't book any other family-friendly resort in Phuket.

“What an Experience!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2010

The Marina is located on the east of the island and it is lovely. Plenty of big boats are marined here and a vision to look at. The marina has a few restaurants, an Indian, Italian and 'Watermark' the more classy with a wide selection of food. There is also a bakery which is nice. Not much to do around the actual marina so taxi's are required to travel, although....perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of other areas to relax and it's a perfect location for the boat trips. Taxi's aren't too much, we went Jan 2010 and the cost was roughly 1000 baht to the west of the island and 600 to Phuket centre (round trips).
The main hotel is very big with plenty of staff. Food served during all hours of the day. The pool is huge and plenty of space to sunbathe. Nothing is a problem with any of the staff who are always on hand to be of help! They are very polite and respectful.
We came here for 2 weeks for our honeymoon and loved it!!!
