“Great staff, dirty beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

We stayed here for a girls trip in August. The staff and the location of the hotel is great. The rooms are spacious and you can choose to have breakfast on your private balcony, which is wonderful. A short walk up the beach are some lovely beachfront eateries as well. However, we were very disappointed by the beach - it was covered in trash and stunk. We came to Thailand for one thing - the beach! When we first arrived we almost changed hotels because of this, but just decided to spend our days elsewhere. Just be warned! I hope they do clean up the beach soon because otherwise it is a lovely hotel.

“Lovely rooms and excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

The service was excellent from the start where we were personally showed around the facilities in our room and all the way through our stay.

We stayed for 2 nights in an Ocean view room which was on the ground floor with a terrace looking over the pool and out to the beach and across the sea.

It is a Muslim run hotel so they don't sell alcohol but they don't stop you buying it outside the hotel and bringing it onsite.

The room was spotless with a jacuzzi bath and separate shower, fridge, huge kingsize bed and a remote control to control lighting, aircon, fan, alarm etc.

The included breakfast had a nice selection that you can choose the night before and select a time and location i.e. in your room or on the hotel terrace. We chose to have ours in our room (no extra charge) and they set it up on our room terrace each morning.

The small pool has sun loungers around it but we found there was not enough in relation to the amount of rooms available. There was only 6 and so they were all taken when we arrived.

The hotel has direct access straight onto the beach.

Kamala beach front has lots of places to eat and get thai massages. We have found that the best food to have in the mixed food restaurants is Thai food. If you opt for western food it sometimes disappoints. We both had a Thai massage on the beach which is the best way to recover from a long flight.

“always a pleasure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

We stayed there for the second time this year, once again it was a pleasure.
The staff always makes you feel welcome and is very helpful.
Breakfast in your room , the balcony or terrace is a nice way to start the day.
My kids loved their noodles and rice dishes. Despite not serving alcohol, which you can get from the nearby 7-11, it is a nice place to relax, since the beach is so close.
Even their small pool is fun for the kids.

Room Tip: take the rooms on the second floor ( "Private Heaven" ,a little pricier but with a terrace...

“Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

I had a wonderful say in the Layalina Hotel. Was in Phuket to relax and this lovely hotel certainly allowed for this. Small, very clean and the staff all extremely friendly. The breakfast each day served in on the balcony was special and the Jacuzzi was something special.

Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Private Heaven room on the first floor was perfect
