A recommendation to stay in Absolute Sea Pearl Patong in December 2011 was the worst experience that we have ever encountered.
We paid 5000baht/night and thought that it should a reasonable one. We did not received the warm welcome at the lobby when we arrived. The service was so bad from the lady at the front desk when we checked in on 31 Dec 2011, at 12.30noon. She emphasised that their hotel is fully booked and they are so busy. She told us that the check in time is 1400, so we decided to have a walk around the area till 1400. When we arrived, the hotel was not able to provide us the room but have to wait for another 15mins. After the long wait, finally got in a room. The room size was ok BUT the aircon was SOOO Noisy that we couldn't sleep/rest well at night.
The service from the front desk lady was SOO bad that whenever we ask for help/favour/request, she will always give a "NO" answer which is ridiculous and find it a pain.
An incident example: we asked the lady at the front desk to assist to make a local phone call, she said 25baht for a call which we don't mind to pay. She then told me to make the phone call myself at the public phone as she was busy, which I feel that she was acting to be busy!
The aircon was SOO noisy that we couldn't rest well at night, we requested for a fan on the 2nd day of our stay. Same lady, same service. She was so unhelpful. The way she handled the guest was absolutely not acceptable, which I would suggest the management to look into to send the staff for some courses.
The breakfast was very limited. The bathroom was leaking on the last day of our stay. This is the most unpleasant stay in Patong. We felt so cheated with the money that we have paid as we do not get what was paid for.
Whether I'll go back and recommend to friends? It a BIG NO NO!!!
Nevertheless, we also would like to compliment 2 staff: ADD and the Trainee bellboy who have been helpful during our stay. They have taken initiative to help us despite of knowing that we are furious against the rude colleague. ADD has helped to send us the stand fan personally which we felt so delighted.
Room Tip: First impression/feeling the important. When you don't feel good, move!
