“Don't stay here, you will be robbed!”

A warning to all felow travellers. The pics on the net for this hotel look fantastic but it is far from the reality. A large hotel which hasn't been remodeled since King Tut days failed dismally to deliver the lovely relaxing time that my partner and I were after.Set in luscious gardens, they should pay more attention to the old and worn out inside.
There is no service whatsoever, it takes 1/2 hour to get towels brought up, bad luck if you need toilet paper.. that took 3/4 hour...isnt the de luxe room supossed to be equipped with towels and toilet paper??
The shower didnt work, we moved to another room where we came back later to find that money had been taken from the safe....robbed from the room safe...we could not believe it! Their attitude was, the insurance will cover it...No it wont....beware of the cleaning ladies, they wear way too much gold...on their salaries!!.The rest of the attitude was basically we dont care and made us feel like we had concocted the whole scenario. This totally destroyed our holiday.
Amongst other things the bed was ancient, 2 beds joined together which wobbled from side to side, never got much sleep, equally old small TV, too bad if you like watching the box to relax.
LIft didnt allow more than 4 people in it, it would sound a bell to warn you.Found this to be a fire hazard.
This place is up for lease in April, all the staff have already been sacked, so we heard ,so staff are making the most of it, they have lost their jobs anyway.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, it is the pitts!!

“Not worth it”

Other hotel give free wifi. This hotel charge 150 bath per hour. Not cool.

Everytime we came back from tours, u have to call housekeeping for towels. They will make your bed, take away the used towel but won't replace. Have to call to get one back.

We stay at 2nd flr, our room were blocked by trees. Not nice.

Conclusion. Should have stay in a cheaper hotel nearby the beach

“10 reasons not to stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2011

I noticed the recenct reviews are the worst. I regret not reading these reviews more before booking this hotel and spending 4 nights here.

1. Rooms are very outdated. TV is from the 1980's along with just about everything else.
2. Service is bad. We were happy with the service everywhere else in Thailand except for this place.
3. No towels in the bathroom when we got there and it was a hassle to get room service to bring them up.
4. Tried to cancel remaing 3 days after spending one night there. Girl working the front desk said that was ok to cancel the last 2 nights, but when our travel agency called to cancel manager answered the phone and told them differently. She said we could only cancel the last night and would be penalized a night without stay for cancelling.
5. They charge for whatever they can get away with. All other hotels in Thailand gave residents free internet this place charged 150 bahts for an hour and u had to use it for a min of an hour.
6. Uncomfortable beds. hard as a rock.
7. Wake up call not received. They forgot to give us a wake up call so we almost missed one of our tours. To make this worse they have no alarm clock or any kind of clock in the room, so u kind of have to rely on them unless u have your own clock. I usually use my cell phone but it was out of service in Thailand.
8. There are so many better options. Across the street is Aspery Hotel at about half the price with a great restaurant. Right on the beach is Patong Beach Garden Hotel. This place is very nice and about the same price
9. No one speaks much English here. Other hotels have a lot of workers that speak good English.
10. The bathroom light worked occasionally.
Our trip to thailand was great besides this place, so don't make the mistake of booking here. The location is decent and it is a big property, but all the reason listed above make it a bad choice.

“definitely not a 4 star hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2011

Its rather 2-3 stars hotel. The furniture was old, the bathroom was extremely old and not maintained. Breakfast was OK. Check-in/out staff quite slow. I cant really blame the hotel for the huge cockroach in our bungalow, but have it in mind if you go for a cottage. Also some of them are really bad positioned among the other cottages without much sunlight in them. Luckily we were in front bungalow facing the pool. Pool and breakfast staff were OK.
The good thing are the location - few meters from the beach and beach road. And the garden as well.
We were there for New Year holidays - NY Gala Dinner was too expensive so we skipped it and went to the beach.
In general i wouldnt recommend this hotel for this price.

“Avoid this one....”

I stayed in this hotel 6-7 years ago, and can say they have not spent a cent upgrading anything in this hotel.

They have obviously paid someone off to get the 4 star rating because there is NO way this is a 4 star hotel. I would say it is a 2 star maybe 3 at a stretch. So if you are looking for a 2 star hotel this will be fine.

Facilities very old, service across the board very average. One of the travelling party who had their own room had their room rate reduced by nearly half because they were Thai and in the words of the reception staff "They are Thai people so they get Thai price"... oh well at least they were honest .. kinda :-)

The rooms are very very average, I had a clanky air-con unit that kept me awake the first night, but was fixed the next day however the whistling from the wind all night due to the old joinery was the final straw, so I checked in to the Marriott (much better for only a little more, see my review on this hotel).
