good hotel near bangla road very nice food staff ect

While I was rather comfortable with staying here, I never had any money or personal belongings stolen from the safe like previous commenters have stated. The staff were fine to me, friendly, and courteous. However I was not overly impressed with the quality of the rooms. Decorated mid 70's I'd say. A busted light fitting in the ceiling was a doorway for the local reptile wildlife. Discovering a rather large llizard in the bathroom upon return from a tour was rather amusing, and herding it out the door took a while!

Pool facilities were excellent, and there was no problem soaking up some sun, and some beers from the poolside bar.

Local nightlife may be a bit scary for new visitors to the area as it is full on. Touting is rife in the area - take minimal cash and leave valuables in a safe location (ie, in a lockable suitcase).

Right over the road are a few bars, I highly recommend Jaggers. Awesome place. :)

After reading several reviews, I decided to stay here even though there were a lot of negative reviews. To be honest, I was pleased with my overall stay. I checked into the hotel about 10am. The staff was friendly and the check in process was smooth. As a lot of the reviews stated, the rooms were rather dark and sort of damp. Well, it is extremely hot and humid in Phuket and in order to run the air condition in the room you have to place your room key in a slot on the wall by the door. So when you leave the lights and AC will turn off. However, my room cooled quickly. I will say that the hotel is old. The door to my room didn't look too sturdy but it served it's purpose. I didn't worry about anyone coming in since there was a gaurd at the gate who approached anyone who weren't guest. I didn't get in the pool but it looked wonderful. The pool bar was great to grab a drink without dealing with the crowd of Bangla Rd. The beds were stiff but that wasn't a problem for me since I like a firm mattress. The minibar in the room was not too expensive. Complementary water is placed in your room everyday. I did eat at the restaurant by the hotel. It was good but I've had better just around the corner at one of the restaurants at the end of Soi Tiger. Internet service in the hotel sucks, period. For good internet connections I recommend the Starbucks on Bangla Rd.

Now the real reason that I love this hotel is because it's right in the middle of all the nightlife. You don't have far to go to enjoy one of the many bars and night clubs. the beach is at one end of Bangla Rd and a mall is at the other end. There is a club directly across the street called Seduction which was amazing. Best of all, after a long night of fun, you just have to walk across the street to your hotel. No need to haggle with tuk-tuk or taxi drivers.

Overall my trip was very enjoyable. The hotel is a great place to relax during the day and a comfortable place to sleep at night. If you are looking for a hotel for it's ammenities, this place isn't for you. However, if you want to be close to all of the action and like to sleep in late, then this is the place for you.
