I'm from South Africa and had planned to have my wedding in Phuket at Naiyang Beach, We were going to spend a total of 10 days in Phuket so decided to spend a few days at patong Beach.. After reading some of the reviews decide to book at the blue ocean resort. Being my first time to Phuket and a group of 20 people i was a bit worried about the type of accommodation.. It's a bit of a drive from the airport and as you driving to the hotel some of the surrounding hotels look a bit questionable. When we arrived at the hotel it surprised us.. It looked totally amazing, reception by staff was welcoming and check in didn;t take too long considering we were a big group. We had booked standard rooms but they were lovely and spacious, clean and had everything you needed. even had a lounge where you could wath TV and use the internet and free Wi-Fi

there are lots of shops and massage parlours around.. With regards to prices you just need to bargain a bit especially as it is a tourist area. the beach is literally not even a 10 minute walk. We had a super time enjoying the water sports.

The only down side is teh language barrier as it's hard to communicate with hotel staff but they were all very helpful and friendly.

There are lots of eating places around but the best was teh one next to the 7 eleven just as you come out of the hotel.. The guy was so helpful and understands english perfectly and altered the menu to suit our requirements.

An overall great experience

The hotel is located on the banks of a smelly canal which is used by locals to dump their raw sewage and trash from across the canal. The view from the hotel is that of dirty canal. Service at the hotel is slow, cumbersome, and inefficient. Stay here only if you have to. It is 2 star budget hotel, nothing resorty about it.

Stayed in the Presidential Suite for 3 nights between Christmas and New Years. Room was awesome!!! More than enough room and in very good condition. Having the big balcony that opened directly into the pool was a huge draw for me. Made it extremely easy to cool off after a long day.
Although the service at the front desk was a bit slow for my taste, the service in the restaurant and bar made up for it.
Not off the beaten path, but not in the main part of Patong which allowed you to withdraw from the hectic pace of the nightlife.
Overall a good value for the price.

When I entered the room I realize the room was huge. Really big. It holds the queen size bed with loads of room to walk about. Toilet is great too.

Service-wise is was great. We were using the meeting rooms there and the breakfast and lunch buffet selection was great.

However, those who aren't keen on walking too much.. Be warned. It is not on the main strip of Patong beach. This means that it is quite a distance to walk from Bangla Rd. For me, that's great as it is away from the Noise!
