Room was great and hotel is spotless. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Would stay here again in a minute, it was such good value for money and just generally an all round great experience!

Back at the Atlas again in Jan 2012; the 3rd time in 4 trips to Phuket. And I will be back! As a solo traveler this cosy & friendly place is like home to me. Once again I thank Bjorn and his team for the relaxed atmosphere here. A great base for exploring this fabulous island.
Atlas was the best place that we stayed our entire 3 week trip. Here's why in no particular order:
1. Service: super friendly, excellent english, smiles for miles, happy nd helpful. Nothing was a problem and it was great hanging at the bar having chats.
2. Rooms: I was so excited when I saw the rooms. They were really big, clean, well laid out, great luggage areas. Good aircon. Big, comfy beds and crispy white sheets. The bathrooms were clean and tidy and a good size with a frosted glass panel view of the bedroom. It was nice and quiet so we got some good sleep as well. If you don't mind stairs, ask for a room as high up as you can so you can see more and less incidental road noise.
3. Location: Only a 1 block walk to Bangla Road and 2 blocks to the beach. On the same road, about 100m walk is the Muay Thai boxing stadium, and just past that the enormous market and the Jung Ceylon shopping mall. Location wise, it doesn't get better.
4. Value: Can't be beaten. For the price I was expecting something quite average, so to arrive and find the luxury of the Atlas was a very nice surprise.
Overall: it felt really safe and secure. There is no pool but you can use the hotel next door pool if you wanted.
On a personal note: my compliments to Bjorn and co for running such a haven. This is just the way a small hotel should be run.
The hotel has got just the right location, not far from night life, walkable to the Patong beach. The hotel has free hi speed wifi for all guests. However rooms facing road can be noisy at night. The hotel doesn't offers breakfast but has nice cafe. The owner of the hotel is very nice, when you come back, you will feel at home. However the gals who manage front desk can be more friendly, I find they lack the service attitude unlike the owner. Also it is very reasonably priced for the area with restaurants and pub all around. There's a good travel desk next to the hotel.Overall a very nice experince at Atlas.
Lovely helpful staff, clean comfortable room; we stayed there on our first and last nights in Thailand and found the location easy, close to action but not too close.
Recommend as a great budget hotel and would stay there again. Thanks Bjorn and staff.
