We stayed two nights here, and except for the quite long way to Patong this place is good for everyone.
Price/value is good if you don't plan to stay in the room all day. But Patong visitors probably don't plan that anyway...
Regarding Patong itself, though this is not the correct place: expect billions of people at the beach and on the streets, then you'll get around with it. If you don't want that: visit Ko Pha-Ngang.
