“Incredible Hotel!”

We stayed here in May 2011 with our then 8-month old son.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier, more thoughtful or more helpful. They were absolutely fantastic with our son, even the cleaners took time to give him a cuddle. By the time we had been there a couple of days the waitresses knew us and automatically bought a lovely thai banana over for him to eat at each mealtime and, notably, after noticing he was getting upset during one dinner they took him off, although ensuring he was still in our view, to entertain him whilst we ate in a peace.

I found that they do small things in this hotel which i've never experienced before. The manager greeted us when we checked in and when we checked out, they leave delicious baked goods in your room after they have cleaned and they bring you ice cream or cold fruit kebabs whilst you're relaxing on the beach. We were saved by the DVD cupboard in the lobby as we watched a DVD most nights with a glass of wine once he was asleep.

The hotel is beautiful, the food in all restaurants delicious, and the beach and facilities are well maintained. I would also recommend a trip to the spa!

There isn't a huge amount to do for older children, it's definitely a beach paradise intended more for couples, but was more than fine for us.

Will definitely stay again should we ever go back to Krabi.

“fantastic hotel”

this is a stunning hotel set in fabulous surroundings with fantastic relaxing pools and beach front. All rooms have a good view and are very luxurious and comfy - what you would expect from a 4/5 star hotel.

Food was also very nice - a little pricey as there is not much option to eat out in cheaper places like we had the option of in other parts of Thailand.

It seemed to be out on a limb a little - we preferred cheaper hotels in Krabi which were closer to other things such as excursions, restaurants, bars and clubs. Its about 40 mins away from Ao nang where we stayed previously.

“Nice, just not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We spent nearly a week here and enjoyed our time. There is nothing wrong with the hotel it's just some things could be done a little better. We felt it was a little dated/tired, but nothing off-putting. Breakfasts were good, but compared with other hotels we have stayed in in Thailand, they aren't quite as good. The staff are generally very friendly and appear to be very good with children so we would advise here if you have kids. The pool area is a little small and it can often be a race to get loungers which I found off-putting. Their are 2 main eating places at the hotel which were nice, but there are also other places within walking distance along the beach which are worth trying (particularly at Phulay Bay - see review for this).
Don't let the location and area put you off coming here. In truth, there is little in Krabi towns worth bothering with (maybe 1 evening trip there would be enough). This location is ideal if you just want to finish off a Thai holiday with a nice quiet, relax away from the hustle and bustle. There is enough in the local area to keep you interested and amused. Enough eating and drinking places too. If you really want to go into the town, the hotel offers a bus service (although their timings for this service maybe need looking at as the return trip comes back a little too early in our opinion)
The beach is nice and quiet too and you can take excursions from here (the hotel also offers a service) to various nearby places.
All in all, a nice experience, just not great enough to tempt us back any time soon. Phulay bay on the other hand certainly would......

“Our second stay, expectations were high...”

We stayed here one week in a Deluxe room.

Loved the room, nice decor. Amenities are great. Bathroom great. Room very clean. Bed was comfy and wide!
We had garden view from our balcony.
Comfortable chairs on the balcony is on my wish list !

Lotus Restaurant are good. Food beautiful displayed. Taste good.
The Bellini italian restaurant has the prime beach location. but in Thailand we prefer to eat Thai.
We had loved to eat Thaifood down by the beach in the evening instead of in the back of the resort in Lotus restaurant.
Some of the other resorts down the beach had better evening menus.

A highlight at Amari is the amazing sunsets combined with Happy hour. All guests comes down to the beach to take photos and enjoying a cocktail.
Krabi is really beautiful with its dramatic mountains and nature!
The location of Amari is a big plus.

First time we stayed here we were overwhelmed. It indeed is a very beautiful resort.
This time we had no pleasant surprises but were overall happy that we came back.
I think Michael the GM is on his way taking it up to a new level!

That`s why we will come back!

“Just perfect”

We are just about to spend our last night at the Amari Vogue. After 14 nights we cannot recommend it highly enough. Michael Vogt the general manager is someone we have had the pleasure of meeting on previous visits to Thailand at the Layana on Koh Lanta. I believe that
Amari Vogue are very lucky to have him. He and his staff are very hands on. They will always greet you with a smile at breakfast, take time just to check all is well. If it you want something they will go out of there way to help you. I had a chest infection while on holiday, they arranged for me to see the doctor in the local town 24 hours later and feeling so much better.
We are in one of the beach villas which is wonderful, well worth it. You are near the pool and the beach, and we were also lucky enough to have a jacuzzi on our deck. Just heaven!!
The food in both restaurants is varied and very enjoyable. Again chef Giovanni is always about to have a chat with, if you are lucky he even will make you a wonderful omelette for breakfast!!
We also had a cookery lesson with 2 other couples which was lots of fun, we have done these before while travelling in Thailand, my husband and I both thought this one was the best. At the end we all sat round and had a wonderful meal of all the things we had helped a little in cooking. Would highly recommend doing it.
We also went out on a long tail boat round the Hong Islands, we decided not to get off the boat as it was Chinese New Year and very busy, but had the most wonderful time just pottering around on the boat. The guys who take you are really friendly and kind.
We used the shuttle bus from the hotel to go in to Ao Nang which is a busy town, fun to visit, and nice to get back to the calm of the Amari.
The staff are just wonderful, they try so hard. I have seen from some reviews that people say their English is not so good, well my Thai exists with hello and thank you. They do a fantastic job and if they have a problem they get someone to help. This hotel has many different nationalities staying with them and from talking to guests and watching the staff they will always get there in the end. You could not wish for more, a smile goes a long way in life.
Really worth visiting, it is one those places you could stay for just a few nights or 2 or 3 weeks and just not want to go home. Just as I am feeling as I finish writing this review. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
