“Fantastic place to bring the family”

My husband and 2 children (ages 3 and 5) stayed in a privacy cottage for a week in mid January. The cottage worked really well for us as the kids could be put to bed and my husband and I could sit outside in the private fenced in patio area and have a drink and talk. The daybed in the room is similar in size to a single bed so we had one child on that and the other on a cot that was supplied per our request. Our bed was extremely firm. The room was very nice, the bathroom could use some updating although it really didn't bother us at all as it was clean and we found the housekeeping to be excellent. The outdoor area was great for us, after spending the day at the beach and pool we returned before dinner and the kids were thrilled to have a bath in the huge outdoor tub which was washed and filled everyday by housekeeping. We had breakfast each day at the resort, which was fine but nothing great. The coffee is pretty horrid but there are a few places on the way to the walking street and on the walking street which advertise "real coffee" and I suggest both of these. We often also had dinner at the resort after finding out about the seafood grill which was great. The kids could play on the beach as we sat and relaxed with our drinks and food. The beach is beautiful, we enjoyed exploring the entire area, going to Phra Nang beach and seeing the cave and enjoying the great food from the boats pulled up on the sand. Taking a kayak was a highlight for us as it gives you a great perspective on the scenery and enables you to explore some caves. My husband and I took turns hiking up to the Scenic look out and lagoon as it would be impossible with the kids. Great view from the look out but I didn't think the lagoon was worth the effort as it is shallow and has a murky mud floor which cannot really be swimmed in. I would recommend going to the travel agency on the walking street which is next to a little gift store. I was given a much better deal for Nosey Parkers Elephant trekking than at the resort. Nosey parkers was definitely worth the trip! I found the service at the resort to be great, some female servers come accross as unfriendly but this may be cultural or just shyness and usually warmed up after a smile and attempt from us to speak Thai.

“I'll see you in two months!”

It our first time in Krabi We were there from the 20th of January till the 25th and I must say I fell in love with it the moment I saw the clear water and the nice view. At first we thought that it was off to a rough start since there was nobody from the hotel who came to pick us up given that we booked for an airport transfer via Agoda. First lesson learned was to double confirm with the hotel to ensure that your requests are received. But apart from that, everything went on smoothly. We stayed at the Privacy deluxe cottage villa and it was private alright! You cannot hear any single sound except for the crickets, the leaves and the wind. The room was big and clean. There was no leak in the bathroom floors. And I love the idea of an outside shower to rinse off the sand before getting inside the room and of course, your very own private jacuzzi.

Food at Railay Bay Resort & Spa is excellent, especially their charcoal bbq fish and prawns. Breakfast was one of my favorite part of the day. They serve a wide variety of food and tables are just right beside the beach. You can enjoy your morning cup of coffee while watching the world go by.

The staff are very warm and accommodating, and they try to make your visit be as hassle-free as possible.

Railay Bay Resort & Spa is also walking distance to the Diamond Cave and Phra Nang Beach, where the water is even better and the sunset is just perfect.

I can put on a long list of things about this resort but I won't. Let's just say my partner and I loved it so much that we are coming back on April and this time around, we are staying from April 6 till the 15th. That's how much we like Railay Bay Resort and Spa.

Room Tip: Privacy deluxe villa gives you really privacy!

“Superb presentation for wedding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Mr Timmy and his main assistant Kathy did superb presentations for both the wedding on the beach and the earlier pool party for the Hens' Night. Accommodation was clean and spacious although the bed design in the Privacy Villas claimed at least three victims with badly bruised shins; perhaps, paint them white or round them off! Over forty guests enjoyed delicious breakfasts, a generous sit-down beach wedding meal, a well organised Hong Island snorkelling adventure and a last day buffet brunch (best meal of them all !). The Thai dancers were great and the fire dancer although he had a hard gig in the rain (it rained after the first course) was sensational. The Celebrant, who was organised by the Hotel, did an excellent job too. One area for improvement is to ensure that all previously organised arrangements such as drink prices and rooming (we were upgraded to a privacy villa due to an oversight) are communicated correctly to management on duty. Timmy and his staff deserve praise overall for their friendly demeanour and willingness to try new creative ideas for a wedding with a difference. Thank you very much Railay Bay Resort and Spa. A job very well done!

Room Tip: The upstairs Double Rooms closer to the back pool have superb views and layout.

We stayed at Railay Bay Resort and Spa for 5 days and we really enjoyed it. We recomment this place.
The location is so convenient (very easy to access with the hotel transfer), the beach is wonderful and you can do nice walks around the resort (to the Diamond Cave or to Phra Nang Bay).
Very easy to take a long trail boat and visit the island around.
Sunset on the beach are amazing .
The rooms are very nice (we had the Railay Deluxe Cottage) and rather huge.
The food is very nice, even if indeed a little more expensive compared with the bbq restaurant on Railey West. Breakfast is great with a lot of choice and different every day.
The only thing which was quite surprising was the service : we were asking for help for booking at the tourism information center or to rent some snorkling equipment but people very not very friendly and we had to find by ourselves.

Room Tip: There are lots of family with children and the swimming pool can be rather noisy. if you want some p...

“We will be back!”

There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel! I stayed here for 3 nights with my mum.

The staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful. They really made you feel very welcome.

The location was perfect-very easy access to both West and East beaches.

Breakfast was such a treat-great selection of hot and cold food, fresh fruit, wonderful coffee, tables right by the beach...

The grounds were well kept and the room was clean, spacious and very comfortable.

The pools were a great size and we loved the fact that one was right on the beach-we spent many hours relaxing and watching the world go by here!

When in Railay, take the time to explore the area. We walked through the jungle to Tonsai Beach, hired a kayak and paddled round the surrounding coast, walked round to Pranang beach, visited the Diamond Cave... This is really special place.

We will definitely be back-thank you for making our last few days in Thailand perfect!
