We paid 500 baht per night for a double bedroom with air con and warm water. The bedsheets were clean and the room was a decent enough size. Basic accomodation but for the price we paid it was definitely worth it. There is free wi-fi here which is also an added bonus.
We were on the second floor but on the first night it was quite noisy due to people banging on doors and talking loudly, however no fault of the hotel just inconsiderate people.
One thing i would also like to mention is that during my stay i needed to see a doctor. I asked the receptionist where the nearest clinic was and she said she knew someone who was a doctor. Before i could say anything she had called him and he was at the hotel within 5 minutes. I didn't know what the hell to expect but he pulled up in a nice car, was smartly dressed and spoke good English. He then drove myself and my sister to the clinic where he worked at and was accompanied with his collegue/girlfriend (i'm not sure). They were both the most kind and genuine people i have ever met and for 1000 baht i was given the medication i required for an ear infection, given a full check up (which was better then any i have had back in the UK) and driven to and from the clinic. He even opened the car door for us and put an umbrella over us so we didn't get wet when we got out! Honestly i have never had a service like that, and would like to thank the staff, the doctor and the lady who accompanied him for all their kindness and much appreciated help.
For breakfast we ate at 89 Cafe just a few doors down. They were always pretty busy, did a good breakfast at a decent price and the staff were always friendly.
The food market just down from the pier is also worth a visit for some cheap, traditional thai food. We tried these mini coconut pancakes which were amazing! Also during fri, sat and sun there is a clothes market not too far from the pier called 'walking street'. This place was really busy, full of clothes, jewelry, food, drinks and interesting thai entertainment, well worth visit.
