We spent a week at the Sheraton Resort Krabi during a recent holiday in Thailand. Initial impressions were very good as the Reception/Foyer is airy and super-clean. After checking in we were shown to our room which was also spotless, and had which was quite possibly the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. We visited a number of other hotels in the Krabi/Ao Nang area picking up other clients for a trip we had booked - including the Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay - and the Sheraton has by far the best location, directly on a quiet beach with extensive and very well-maintained gardens. All the staff were courteous and friendly, and keen to give any assistance they could. The food in the hotel varies - breakfast is pretty standard choices but good and fresh, Mangosteens in the evening serves good upmarket Thai (and international dishes which we didn't try), the Malahti indian restaurant was a disappointment (excellent starters followed by the most average mains I have ever eaten in any Indian restaurant anywhere). Most of the time we ate at the Ruean Siam Thai restaurant on the beach next door to the hotel, which had a great selection of good Thai dishes and considerably cheaper (as you would expect). Drinks at the hotel are reasonable value for a 4* hotel, and half-price during several happy hours - the Martini's bar serves a particularly good Caipirinha!
