“could do so much better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

we arrived looking forward to our stay but first impressions mean so much and ours were not good.
Our room had no aircon working, no hot water and no toilet paper.
We were told we had 2 complimentary bottles of water per day so helped ourselves from the fridge only to find we were charged on check out as the complimentary bottles were not kept in the fridge - who would want warm water.
After 4 nights the heavens opened and our room leaked soaking a case and its contents, we were moved quickly but no assistance was offered re our soaked case.
Breakfast was OK but as others stated if you didn't get there early you had scraps, the staff tucked n themselves before breakfast time for guests was over.
The private beach was no great shakes and afer 9am there were no beds to be had anyway. The pool was clean and inviting but pool bar staff made you feel that you were a burden and prices were high especially after having spent ten days in Koh Lanta where the price on the list was what you paid and not as in the Krabi plus 10% service (joke) and 7% tax.
The one bright spot in the whole week was the young lady in reception who fielded all our complaints with a smile and rectified matters. I wish I had taken her name and put her forward as a future manager.

“Not a bad place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We are from Perth in Western Australia and stayed at Krabi Resort for 7 nights in January 2012. Overall it wasn't a bad place for a family to stay but there is definitely room for improvement.
Our family is 2 adults and 2 kids so we had two connecting rooms in the "new" O block which, based on many of the other reviews, seems to be the best part of the resort to be in. The rooms were big and clean and the location is good - it has direct access to the beach which most of the others in Ao Nang don't have.
We had a number of relatively small complaints about the place:
- housekeeping was a bit erratic. On more than one occasion I had to go and find them to get toilet paper, towels and/or bottled water after they had done the rooms. They always apologised and were happy to give me whatever I needed so it was only a minor inconvenience really.
- the aircon and hot water systems were also erratic. Both were either too hot or too cold, we couldn't seem to find "just right". We got used to it but it was a bit frustrating.
- the included breakfast was pretty disappointing. Get in early or it's even worse!
This could be a fantastic place if the owners stepped it up a notch. The grounds are nice (although the lake in the centre is pretty stinky) but there are a few areas that seem to have been forgotten, for example the half finished mini golf course. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to improve the standard of the breakfast - having more than one chef working would probably be a good start!
I made the booking through Andaman Sky Adventures (www.andamanadventures.com) and they made sure we got connecting rooms in the new section. I would thoroughly recommend them but not sure I'd stay at Krabi Resort again.

Room Tip: Ask to go into the new section, or book through an agent such as Andaman Sky Adventures.

“I would not recommend the Krabi Resort”

Unfortunately I would not recommend the Krabi Resort, i have listed reasons below:
- Staff were not helpful or particular friendly
- Buffet Breakfast was very poor on presentation and variety
- We were only given x2 complimentary bottles of drinking water for 3 nights (other resorts gave x2 per day)
- The Bungalow was full of mosquitos each night
- No light in the shower (so could only wash during the day if you wanted to be able to see)
- Bed was hard as a rock with only x2 pillows
- There was not much garden/overall maintenance (compared to the other resorts)
- Resort was very old (compared to the other resorts which were very modern)
- No gym to be found

“Out of my expectations”

I went to Krabi resort with my boyfriend. At first, I thought it's gonna be an awesome place based on the review I read somewhere, but apparently I was dissapointed. The check in was terrible!after a quite long waiting, they put us in a two single bed room instead of double bed which I have already stated in my booking confirmation far far away before my arrival date. At first they insisted to put us there, but after I complained finally they found us a double bed room. The bad things still continued, lack of hospitality, the smell of damp of the room, bad air-con, not even gave us towel!! The towels weren't changed if you didn't ask for it, lame breakfast for a very nice hotel they claimed, they didn't even turn on the lights when it's already evening (it was me who turned on the lights because I was afraid someone might fall from the stairs). Won't go back there. It's not worth the price..

Room Tip: the bungalows located in a quieter area. but if u choose the hotel, ask in detail what you want for...

“Not the cleanest...”

We booked this resort at the last minute for a 3 night stay over the New Year. One of the considerations for staying here was the lower rate (2000 THB) they charged for their "Compulsory Gala NYE Dinner" - this was a mandatory fee the hotels in Krabi were charging over NYE. Other hotels were charging about 3000 THB to 7000 THB. We had initially booked a room at their hotel wing, but were told that we had been upgraded to a bungalow.

The bungalow was spacious and didn't look that bad. However, the condition was a bit tired looking. The door key that was given to us was a large key with a huge key ring and the room safe's key was a lever lock key (rather than a keypad safe). Not sure if this is more secure than the modern technologies we have with keycards though.

Location wise, the hotel wasn't in a bad place. It is about 5-10mins from Ao Nang beach and it was easy to get everywhere.

The only gripe we had about the place was the cleanliness of the bed. Although there was a mosquito net provided to us, the problem wasn't the mosquitos. By the 2nd night, both of us developed an itch on our back and arms. On the last night, it got worse. Fortunately, the itch went away after applying some ointment back home, but I did not sleep well for 2 nights because of what seemed like bites from bed bugs.

I doubt I would want to stay in this resort again.
