The K. Guesthouse is a nice place. The bar and restaurant is comfortable. The rooms are cheap and clean. Another advantage of the guesthouse is, that is is located close to the bus station from which you get to the airport.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
So all in all a good choice to stay for a few nights.

This is the best place I have found during my trip in Thailland. Confortable, and great value price. Free wi fi connection and lots of restaurants around. Half price compared to Ao Nang cheapest GH and really better. Lots of Boats to reach great beachs.

We booked this place after being recommended by another Guesthouse nearby which was full. We arrived late on a Saturday night - the street was manic outside as this guesthouse is five mins walk from the incredible Saturday night market (a must to visit if in this area). We arrived late and were shown to our room which was a three bed dorm type set up. We weren't happy with this but said we'd stay for the night anyway. First impressions were wrong though - next day, everything had calmed down outside, the building is a lovely timber design and Ms K was very accommodating and changed us to a double room for the next two nights. Everything works very efficiently, the place is very clean, there is a small restaurant (although the breakfast is cheaper two or three doors down!), the showers work, and overall I'd recommend this for low budget accommodation.

We arrived after booking by phone earlier in the day and were shown the room which was stuffy, smelt of damp and overlooked the noisy main road. The owner was pretty rude and when we explained that my partner was 6 months pregnant and the room was too stuffy and noisy and that we would have to look elsewhere she got even ruder and demanded we pay 100b for simply having sat on the bed and used the loo once in 10 mins. She then ranted about how awful us 'tourists' are and how bad we are to the poor people if Thailand! Nasty piece of work she is, and having read some of the other reviews on Tripadvisor I can see we are not alone in our opinion. How this place got in the lonely planet I will never know!

Go next door to the Kyo Ngean Chao Fa Mansion instead. Lovely hotel, much better rooms, pleasant staff. K guesthouse was without doubt the worst reception I have had in ANY hotel on my travels period!
