On forehand I had a perfect email contact with the resort. They responded very quickly in perfect english. I could arrange everything by mail, even pick up from the trainstation, car+driver and a tour and a birtdaycake with personal message on the actual b-day for my 4 year old! But....when we came, we were the only guests and the next two days there was no one, really NO ONE of the staff who could speak a word english. Not a single word like ' hello' ' toast' or ' juice' and so on. And our Thai was that good (ie we didn't speak any of course...). So to organise and arrange things, it was terrible. Even de cardriver who took us on a tour did not speak ane single word english, so it went all wrong to get where we wanted to go. We ended up talking to a sort of superviser on the cellphone first and that didn;t quite work out, so we spoke to a manager higher up (still don;t know who he was...). That sort of spoiled one day. So: if this resort wants to keep up with all the other resort on the banks of the river Kwai, they absolutely need professional and english speaking staff there. Food (breakfast/diner) was okay, more variety in drinks for kids (no juice, no milk) would be nice. At this point I would not recommend this hotel to friends....sorry.
