“excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2011

I get a bit disappointed with the usual corporate' type of hotels and wanted to stay somewhere that had a little character.this family run hotel does what many 'big' hotels fail to deliver - the feeling you are truly welcome, at home..This hotel doesn't have to try too hard to be a very good hotel.
The hotel is quite large but with not too many rooms - i think about 35 in total. the deluxe room we stayed in was enormous -probably the biggest hotel room i have stayed ! enormous bed, large bathroom, tv,tea/coffeee, etc -very nicely decorated - in a spanish villa style.
the swimming pool and gardens area are very pleasant.. Again its a relaxed feeling to be there.
the owners are truly nice people. its no act of theres to be at your service, and the staff are great and look relaxed and happy to be working there..
the location of the hotel is in a quiet soi about 5 mins and 100 baht (2 pounds) from the nighlife/central are of hua hin. easy to get to by tuk tuk/taxi, and the hotel order these for you.
There is a large-ish shopping centre about a 15 minute walk and the night market is near there too.
ofcourse this hotel will not be for everybody. it quiet. relaxed.Generally, the people staying were older travellers. not club 18-30 type of place!
some people may not like is that there is no lift -but not a problem as staff assist with luggage etc
if you want family run, not in the middle of the noisy/lively areas hotel this hotel should be considered.
i would recommend this hotel and will be returning as soon as possible.

“Home From Home.”

Another fantastic holiday had at the Prinz, would highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Hua-Hin,where you will be treated as one of the family and not just as guest with a room number. This hotel is excellent value for money the food is also very good and cheap. The owners Cheri and Herbert will ensure that your stay with them will be a very enjoyable experience, nothing is to much trouble you only have to ask and they will do all in their power to help with your request. We will certainly be booking again.

“Excellent friendly clean hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

My husband and I picked the Prinz Garden Villas after a last minute change of travel plans and we were delighted with our choice. After trying to book our dates through various online agencies, I emailed the hotel direct. I received a quick reply and was offered rooms for the dates I requested,
We were given a two bedroomed apartment for our first night as their other rooms were full. Fantastic apartment for a family, clean and spacious with good views. On our second day, while we were at the beach the hotel staff moved our luggage to a deluxe room. Again a great room.
Breakfast was good and the atmosphere throughout our time there was great.
The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the centre of Hua Hin but there are plenty of taxis and tuk tuks. The beach is a 5-10 minute walk away. The hotel is a haven away from the centre.
Swimming pool was excellent.
On our last day Herbert's wife gave us a lift to the bus station. Great service, atmosphere and excellent rooms. Herbert's 4 children were a delight, courteous and polite and little characters.
I would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly choose this hotel again for myself and my family.

“clean, good pool but not so close to beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2010

My family and i stayed at this hotel last year. Sorry for the late review. The hotel is run by a German gentleman and his Thia wife. Very nice peole and it seemed most of the staff had a close cohesiveness about themselves. Breakfast was simple and did its job. It was not buffet but you could order eggs any way you liked 'em. There was a pc with free internet in the open area just besides the breakfast place. I remmeber taking advantae of that. Rooms were huge. View from the room overlooking the pool was great. Room service was good too. My kids went nuts ordring chicken satay all day. Location is another story. You had to take a long narrow street from the main road leading up to the hotel. At night it was a bit uncomfortable waling back as there were not enough street lamps. Besides, a lot of construction going around. To be fair, they are probably all completed by now.
Beach is not close but a 10-14 minute walk. But that part of the beach was not clean. We had to walk up another 15/20 mins to find the place to settle down. My kids went on horse back riding. One pleasant surprise was the Hua Hin Market Mall (i could be wrong with the exact name ). Very modern and a great gateway from the thai heat. There is a Sizzlers there which we freqented twice as well as other fast food joints.....swensons, codffee shops. a lot of local and ethnic goods on display if you are into that sort of things as we are.
Hua Hin as a town, is very relaxed and laid back. But probably worth visiting once if not more. Next trip KRABI !

“FANTASTIC value for money.....very impressed”

My wife and I have been traveling around SE Asia for >2 months and can honestly report that this accommodation represents the best value for money of any we have stayed at in the region (1,100Baht per night - low season). We booked for one night, extended to three and then extended to five.....say no more!!!

Our room was large; we only stayed in a standard room. The aircon works well and, being on the second floor, we had a balcony that was a good size. Note: all rooms overlook the pool, which is also a really good size considering the number of rooms (there is also a small shallow children's pool). The bathroom was an adequate size with an open style shower which is common across Asia. This was however built in a very nice way and was attractive. It was also designed so you do not slip (if only other hotels/ guest houses did this). The bed was extremely comfortable (this cannot be overstated) and can be considered a large double. You have a TV (about 28 inches) and DVD player. For those who do not want to venture into town, there are DVDs for use and books to borrow that are both free for guests (most of the latter are in German though).

Breakfast was good with a few options to choose from although not the best we have had but still more than adequate. The hotel also has flexibility. For example, we stayed in the room until 10:50am one morning and came down to be asked if we wanted breakfast!!! Breakfast is suppose to close at 10:30am. We stayed for dinner one night and whilst not the most romantic of settings, the food cannot be faulted. The chicken satay and massaman curry were divine

The hotel is very clean and has extremely friendly staff. Although it is not in the middle of town, a tuk-tuk will only set you back ca.100baht (about 2 pounds). Opposite the hotel is a nice coffee shop called Coffee 77. We went there on more than one occasion.

Possible improvements to the accommodation - A safety deposit box in the room (we didn't have one in the standard room). Perhaps some subdued lighting for dinner to make the experience more romantic.

Other than the suggested improvements, the hotel/ services apartments certainly hit the spot. I wouldn't bother paying more for one of the larger chains as this gives you what you need for considerably less money.
