Wora Bura is a relatively new boutique hotel, build about 5 years ago to commemorate the 100th anniversary of King Rama V's trip to Europe. He was the first Head of the country, who opened the doors of Thailand to the Western World. Very highly educated and intelligent person, he understood the importance of closer relations with the European Kingdoms. In 4 months he visited 13 European monarch countries and tried to get the best of their cultures and traditions and introduced them to Thailand.
This resort is build in a colonial style, but incorporating the old Thai architectural traditions. It is a nice mixture of modern and traditional styles - complimenting each other and not clashing. Staying there you have a feeling that you are in a mini Versailles (the landscaped gardens), or a museum (the lobby), but at the same time living the modern life - with a glass of cocktail in the pool bar, or walking alongside the endless beach of fine and clean, brown sugar- like sands. Everywhere in complex - the backyard and the gardens there are small, smiling, stone figurines, just making you to smile back to them.
The whole area is quiet, peaceful and very relaxing.
Love the place and the people there, making you feeling as their guest, not a customer.
