My family and I stayed at the Wora Bura Resort & Spa for a long weekend to get out of the "madness" that is Bangkok. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! Very colonial and peaceful. The rooms are lovely and have everything you could possibly need. The pool area is gorgeous - although, the small kids pool needs a good clean! We spent most of our time at the baby pool and its was full of leaves etc. The beach is absolutely spectacular and one of the best we've seen in Thailand. It was cleaned daily and swept! What a pleasure to be able to run freely on a clean beach for a change. This seldom happens in Thailand! The beach also stretches for miles which is gorgeous. You never felt like you were sharing it with a million other people. The F&B however, was awful! Breakfasts were okay but everything else was just terrible. The food service was slow and took around 30-45min just for a kids spaghetti bolognaise!!!! There were two staff who seemed to run the evening dinner restaurant (lady & a gentleman), they were lovely and did their best. However, during the day, the staff were not as efficient! Some could barely speak English and they seemed to "disappear" during the day! You had to hunt down a waiter just to order a cold drink. They were disorganised and lazy. The food itself is very average at best - although well priced. The kids menu needs to be upgraded and expanded to include a couple of "healthier" options - some fish & veges would have been appreciated - as well as basic sandwiches for during the day. Its a shame the resort has let this area fail so poorly, since the rest is lovely. I recommend the F&B Manager step up his game!
Would we return, definitely! The beach itself is worth visiting this resort.
